Apart from the pointless question in the end of your post, you're spot on the money here. While I'm sure the standalone will be a beautiful game once it's finished, I think the branding and marketing of it has been grossly mismanaged. They've now pretty much worked their way into this bizaare "sinkhole"-situation where some randomnly posted devblog shows off a bunch of guys running around naked with crash helmets (because thats OMG-awesome, right!?) and a few new actual features, which are then picked up on in a heartbeat by what is most likely the most invested and enthusiastic modding community the gaming industry has ever seen, and then turned into ACTUAL, instantly playable content at the price of... well... free... and then BIS and co. put their thinking hats back on while trying to come up with what new novelty to blow our minds with next (until we can enjoy that feature too in Epoch/DayZero/Origins/whatever a couple of weeks later). They're basically - they're actually - competing with their own fanbase right now, which seems nothing short of silly, given how much backing DayZ has had from the beginning. Not bashing anyone here. Not Rocket - not BIS - all of which have their priorities and prerogatives dominated by circumstances that few of us know all or anything at all about. I'll buy the standalone and play it just as sure as I'm downloading and playing pretty much every mod that pops into existance. I just think that it's a mismanagement of ressources that is primarily to blame for the long wait.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean? Could you elaborate? Feel free to send me a PM as it's something I'll definitely look into. Resolution played should match resolution edited and rendered in? I thought it did already? Or do you refer to the After Effects sequences? Also, could I trouble you with just quickly checking out one of my previous vids and tell me if its a consistent problem?

Hey Fellas! Episode 11 of Bambi Tales is out and recorded in DayZero. This episode almost vanished into nothingness, as my external hard drive died a very messy death. Thanks to a nifty little tool named 'Testdisk' and a lot of painstaking hours learning more than I care to know about partitions and boot files, I managed to salvage most of it and finish it for uploading. Sorry for the wait! Episode 12 is almost done as well, so there'll hopefully be a lot less time between episodes again now... Hey fellas, I finally finished up the first episode of what's hopefully going to be an on-going series called 'Bambi Tales'. It's a step in a new direction for me - away from theme-based videos like 'Superduper' and 'Hunger GameZ' - and towards something that let's me try out new styles of editing, while trying to incorporate a storyline within my gameplay. The whole thing was filmed within the past few days. Episode 2 is a wrap as well and will be released later this week, unless people can't be arsed watching episode 1. :lol: The series revolves around my own style of gameplay, which basically means that you're not gonna see dozens of people slaughtered in Electro and Cherno. It's not an 'OMG I'M AWESOME'-montage, because I'm not. I'm just a guy trying to survive in a really harsh world, and maybe - just maybe - getting a friend or two somewhere along the way. There's also a few tips and pointers along the way for those new to Day Z. ;) I know most people just click and move on, when videos like these go up - but please, please, PLEASE comment on what you think works/what doesn't, like/dislike as you please, subscribe if you wanna see more, and let me know what you think. Is this watchable? Or should I just go die in a fire like all the other wannabe-Frankies out there? :P The video should be available in HD within the hour.

Hey all, This weekend, my buddy Nolan and I took part in the Hunger GameZ live event on the dayzme.nl server. As in the movie that inspired the event, 50 survivors are paired up and have to survive within a limited area that becomes ever smaller, eliminating Z's and each other, until one man or woman is left standing. We had a great time participating and filmed the whole ting. Part 1 is available now and details the event as experienced by the two of us, until we died. Hey all, This weekend, my buddy Nolan and I took part in the Hunger GameZ live event on the dayzme.nl server. As in the movie that inspired the event, 50 survivors are paired up and have to survive within a limited area that becomes ever smaller, eliminating Z's and each other, until one man or woman is left standing. In this second part, I cover the action between the remaining 8 participants until one last man is left standing. Covering this kind of event was an experiment for me editing-wize. While I'm well aware that there's been hundreds of events like this before, and plenty of videos covering those, my aim and focus with this vid was to try and provide my viewers with a sense of consistent storyline, rather than just a lot of random action sequences put together. I'd greatly appreciate feedback as to whether I made that happen or not.
