For a week now I've had this problem. Whenever I try to start up DayZ standalone, it loads everything. Then it shows the DayZ logo and freezes. Just a black screen. Can't hear game sound or anything. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.

I guess I can do that overnight. It does do the loading ring when I start up the game though.

It just sits there forever. And the problem started just last week, I've had the game since release. I have a 2nd gen i5 and factory overclocked GTX 760. I haven't messed with the files. I tried running as admin.

I would like to tell you a story of what happened yesterday morning in a Russian server. It had been about 5 minutes since I had spawned, and then my friend whom I am trying to meet up with ask the question, "So, where did you spawn?". I think, and then realize... I don't know. I notice a small warehouse ahead, and say, "If I find something in here good enough, I will keep myself alive.". I walk in and see a few dead bodies. All fresh spawns. I had no weapons, so I checked them anyway. Might as well. One had a hatchet; he was the only one who even had a weapon. I turn around, and see somebody with an AK like gun in the corner looting another body. I look at him and decide that if he is stupid enough to not see or hear me, he deserves to die. I walk up, hit him in the face a few times with my hatchet, and search his inventory. I see an Sa58V with 6 clips. Before grabbing the coolest gun I had ever found at that point, I turned around just to be safe. I panic when I see a different guy in the corner staring at me. I walk slowly towards him, wondering if he would kill a fresh spawn like me. I hack his face. I assume the duo also did this, because he had an Sa58V too... with 6 clips. I took it, and hopped merrily along Chernarus.

Just that.

What kind of human are you?

After turning EVERYTHING down to low and very low, I still get a small bit of notable lag. Is there any other way that doesn't involve buying a better processor? I already have an i5. Would getting a better graphics card change it? Also, if I do want upgrade to an i7, would it fit in where an i5 was?

Wow. I really didn't have that much lag. I guess this whole time it was mouse smoothing... I will still use everything I've been told though! Thanks everyone. Might as well still upgrade to an i7 once I get $200 anyway. Also, I will be able to share my specs tomorrow. And if anyone thinks I'm stupid for not knowing about mouse smoothing, it's because for about 3 years now I have played straight Xbox 360. Actually, last month, I had just bought my three first PC games. Honestly, it is a much better experience. Mods and 100 person servers... the glory of PC!

My game is playable, but it irritates me that when I want to stop turning in first person, my view keeps moving slightly. I have anything that I can play without disable, low, or very low.

I'm sorry, but I will have to tell everyone my specs on friday! I sent it to a computer place to get it cleaned a bit. My friend works there, he does it for like $2.

My fps is usually somewhere around 20-25. I'll have to check res on friday.

How about instead of trying to raise your post count, type in something that takes more than 5 seconds to think of, or even something that would help.

I was walking on the shore, and then I noticed something across a field. 2 silos. I begin running towards it, of course doing this to get away from zombies. So, I had finally got to the silos. Then I saw something else- a small air control tower. Now of course, even I knew this wasn't the NW Airfield. A climb up the ladder and hear a slight voice. So it had been about ten minutes, and the other player was silent. I completely lost all worries about him, since I thought I was a boss with my AK-74.I was walking straight through a field- then I was shot twice with what I think were 2 STANAG rounds.I got knocked out, and I was bleeding. I guess he thought he killed me, because I was able to get up and bandage myself. Right as I was about to run around the corner, I was shot again. I get around the corner, and there is one thing I notice. I was bleeding again. DEATH. This was yesterday, by the way.

I don't understand why all of you had to turn these simple instructions for Xbox controller users in to a big argument. Don't be mad because you :emptycan: 't afford an Xbox, his instructions proved useful to me, so I'm happy. All you people getting angry over this are having a bad time, I'm sure.
