IDK about the experience level of British/Aus/NZ/etc. contributors (no offense) but here's a breakdown of some of what you can find in the US, and what might make sense to include: NIJ type IIIA vest - proof against handguns and shotguns. NIJ type IV Ceramic plates - proof against rifle rounds up to .30-06 AP. Modern IIIA vests honestly aren't that cumbersome. A plate carrier, on the other hand, can weigh up to 20lb easily. Thirst, food, speed penalties for the PC, maybe reduced non-pack inventory capacity; no penalties for the IIIA vest. Torso bonuses only, if the engine allows - legs, head still vulnerable. Pain and shock if hit, even without blood loss, for either setup. Note that all the player models are already depicted as wearing plate carriers anyhow.... Maybe a 1k damage reduction for the IIIA vest, 5k damage reduction for the level IV SAPI plate carrier? Just my humble opinion.

    Looking for DayZ partner/help.

Just keep at it and hit the markets in Cherno/Elektro. Move north as soon as you can. Stealth and using buildings to evade zombies are key early on. I had a frustrating first few days, but once you have a tent or two set up, and the means to hunt/cook game animals, you're set. Kamenka respawns are a pain.

    More aircraft!

The Soviet WW2-era Kukuruznik scout biplane would be appropriate for the setting, with some form of VSTOL capability (land on roads, take off in a field, etc.) This plane is an agricultural, cropduster-ish dinosaur...able to be kept running after the zombie apocalypse, and more believable in Chernarus than a microlight. http://en.wikipedia....Polikarpov_Po-2 They'd have two seats and some minor storage capacity. Would be a great machine for "heroes" looking to jet across the map for a blood transfusion. I personally think that aside from relics like the Kukuruznik, you'd almost never see any civilian-owned aircraft in an Eastern Bloc country, even today. Given the number of former combloc central-European and quasi-Slavo-Balkan states joining NATO, receiving free weapons, and standardizing on NATO equipment and ammunition, the Huey is somewhat believable.
  6. On some of the higher-end pistols, would it be reasonable to add Tritium glow-in-the-dark night sights? Trijicons have a functional life of around a decade. Possible candidates might be the M9SD and the G17. Kind of redundant with a reticle, but would make a difference in night engagements on servers without crosshairs. Also pretty simple to do. Probably not a big deal, but an interesting little detail.
