Yeah man I play on both Hive and private but the L85 is on Hive, I have searched bloody everywhere for a SVD, The L85 is not the same as it used to be you know a? They must of changed it in a recent patch, still picks up heat very well we tried it last night. just not the red orange colour. I also have 2x L85A2 AWS on a private hive called doorman but dont go on now as there is a password...

Joined onto a private hive with 8 or so players the other day.. Fresh spawn running up coast to Berezino and spot a chopper before the big factory parked in the fields. close inspection was mint condition with no gas, few cans of drink in it and nothing else, I find jerry can and after an hour or two of back and forward from gas station me and a mate are in the air ; ) Still no new players joined so we head of to find a hiding spot for it. I saw something in the comments come up that admin had joined in and didnt think to much of it. We found a real good spot to park it till later that night. Now an hour later I logged back in to see if it was still there and it was : ) but after about 10 seconds I was kicked, I logged back in and same thing happened so I left it half an hour and went back in and the chopper has gone and I not getting kicked now??? Would the admin know were it was and take it? or something else happen? There was no server reset? I realise another chopper could spot it from the air but just seemed strange the way it happened.. Any suggestions?

How would he of got my chopper? Can they Telleport? And im guessing he could of been kicking me from the game till he got the chopper? I was gutted...

That could work, That way it would stay in the game, I agree it needs to be toned down a whisker but not removed.

LOL fair call.. Im just disapointed with the votes i guess. would be great to keep the thermal and even if was only goggles but will have to wait and see I guess.. Years ago the russians or germans (cant remember) invented a suit which made you really hard to pick out with NV but dont think anything been done to hide from thermal as of yet?? I realise its just a game and has to have balance but think its important to keep it as real as possible.. Mayb batteries for the optics would be an option like others have said? Many things can be done without removing them completely. Mayb have it as a server option? Thermal/NV enabled and disabled?

Exposed skin gives of more heat signiture than covered skin.. there is still heat from body temp so will show through clothes. like looking at a car, the engine area, tires and brakes show brighter than say the car body. they are the warmest part of the car.. If there is heat in any way the thermal will pick it up.

Thermal does not work like that dude.. there is no getting away from it. You change the way it works and its not realistic anymore

I think it should stay, The only reason I play the game is for the military equipment, I love using the NV and thermal gear, Someone said make it so wearing a ghillie will hide from thermal, That is not realistic, Thermal shows everything in real life so it should in game, Make the gear extremly rare and limit thermal viewing range to say 500 meters? Make the Nv not as affective in rain or fog? Also change the thermal vision to black and white like proper military thermal is, not orange... Please keep in game thou, its the best part of the game for alot of us.
