Mudpuppy (DayZ)

Returning player here and I've come across quite a few new things... Mostly, and to my surprise pitching a tent isn't the same anymore. Cut a long story short... Found nice loot, found a tent, went to pitch it in my old spot (against a house wall) and was told to press Q and E to help locate it. I set it up in a happy spot but couldn't work out how to place it. Ended up shooting my rifle and being mobbed by 1000 zombies. Good bye ghillie suit and assault rifle. Thanks in advance.

It does have an anti hack yes. So I can't place a tent inside a rock or house wall anymore?

It's changed. You right click to pitch tent then you can move the tent around in the open and press Q or E to slightly ajust it. The tent icon is missing from your inventory and I don't know how to place it

FN-FAL Not a popular rifle but I love it. It hits hard (8000 blood) and has a beefy noise. The one with the night scope is fun at night too.

I haven't played in about 3/4 months due to new girlfriend and now the honeymoon period is over I'm back! Did they up the bleed and infection chance? My first game back I was bleeding on roughly every 3rd hit making zombie combat with an axe very hard, I also picked up an infection on that first hit. I spawned with antibiotics but half way to Berezino I picked up a 2nd infection. Finally I'm looking for a decent private hive to play on. I used to play on the Laughingman servers but they seem to have gone. A hive with 2/3 servers and active mods/admins would be perfect. Thanks.

This is a great idea. The Items wouldn't even need to be on the server. Example.. You could find a metal detector and scan an area with it, the server would just have to remember where someone fired their weapon which I think it does anyway.

The less high end loot on the server the better. As people have said... take what you can, blow up cars and flatten the tents plus check back after reset to make sure it's not a duping farm. Although if it's just a single tent with a couple of AK's and some beans it could be owned by a bambi who found a tent in which case make your own mind up.

@OP I now play on a private hive with a whitelist. We still sometimes get a hacker but it's quite uncommon and the admins are on it very quickly. Best thing I've done was move there. You should check out the RhinoCrunch server where I play. It's easy to get a whitelist from his website and it's a very nice community.

I hate to think of myself as a bandit and I don't go out of my way to kill anyone (noob hill anyone) but if you're coming face to face with a random guy you don't know in some northen town there is a good chance one of you will end up dead or at least shooting at each other. For places like the airfields, fire stations in the two big cities and heli crash sites it's KOS for anyone I see simply because I know I'm KOS for simply being there. I've been betrayed far to many times to think "friendly" means anything other than "don't shoot till I have you in my sights" and you shouldn't expect any favours unless you know the person well. Maybe we're all survivors now but some of us are just meaner than others.

What's your oldest character or your longest run? This is on the public hive I have this guy but I don't play with him as much anymore since joining a private hive. Still like to log him in from time to time as he's decked out with some fancy gear where as I can just about last 3 or 4 days where I play now.

And now I was killed by a hacker. Emptied an entire DMR mag into his chest but he just laughed and killed me. Good bye old friend

I tend to play a solo scavenger and find DayZ incredibly immersive as I move around the map trying to survive, finding loots and dealing with close encounters (players and zombies)

A bit low man. Like people said, dropped him off, I'm sure he would have understood. Having said that, your story made me laugh.
