First off, I'm not a bandit or a hill sniper. I'm just a scavanger and collecter. I've found also every item in the game from rangerfinder, MVG's Camo/ghillie, big ass assault rifles and tents. But I just can't find any sniper rifles... I've been over NW airfield many times, Stary, heli crash sites and other hot spots but the only rifles I found were a DMR off a dead bandit whos friend killed me 30 seconds later and an AS50 at a crash site that just vanashed from my bad 30 seconds later. Tell me... Where have you found your sniper rifle? Where does Frankie get all his DMR's? And is it feast or famine when it comes to these things?

I guess I'm still newish (playing for a month now) and I have my own camp so hopfully I can offer some starting advice for you... Do not get to attached to your camp & gear. The game is still alpha/beta so sometimes all the contents of your tents can vanish as has happned to me twice. Apprantly a server reset can respawn it so leave tents where they are if it does happen. Remember to always "Save old tent" after you place it and put your load into it. Keep an eyes on the free slots (you'll just have to count) as if you put an item into a full tent said item is distroyed! Tents stick out like a sore thumb so don't place them on the edge of the woods. Go further in. http://www.dayzwiki.com/wiki/Tent

Finaly! I found a DMR plus ammo. I found it inside someones camp along with five (yes five) ghille suits. I only took one plus the rifle. Normaly I would leave peoples camps alone as I have my own but if you put your camp inside one of the hangers at NW airfield, well...

Something very strange happened to me. Yesterday I set up a camp site on a very low population server, most I've seen online was 10 at its peek. The site I set up was well out of the way of any towns, deer stands, POIs, roads/tracks and shortcuts. However, I returned just now to find my tents in place but zero loot in them, even the junk like bandages, soda and tinned food. What's strange is that there was a 4th tent placed in the middle of my site so at first it seemed someone set up a tent just to gather my loot togther but on inspection it seems I can pack up this 4th tent which I didn't place. Is this some strange but and should I wait for a server reset?

That makes a lot of sence now. I did move my first tent around quite a bit before settling on a final position. I did save all the empty tents before I logged out hopefull that won't effect mai loots respawning.

That's unlucky but that's the way it goes. Only way to truly prevent it is to hire your own server. I have a couple of tents on a low population server but I'm also aware that one day (maybe soon) I'll find it missing from my list or the site ransacked.

I don't. If I see another player and he sees me I back off and he normaly does the same. I want to approach people but I need to get my headset first.

I'm looking to set up a tent for storage. I've set up two before, one was in a stupid obvious location which was more of an experiment, the second was I thought in a good place but vanished over night although it just has some food/drink in it and a revolver plus ammo. After some lurking on here I know where some people like to set up their camps but I'm wondering how secure it will be in terms of hackers. I intend to set up on a low population server I like to use, one where I've stumbled accros a camp before and it still remains but mine will be in a more more obscure location. Any more advice would be great.

As the guy above me said, never turn your back on a player. I just had a guy in a bandit skin tell me he was friendly, yeah right. I fired a couple of shot in the air but in his direction then took cover in a house. I was the camo clothing kit on and an AK kobra so maybe he thought I was a badass and made a run for it. What he didn't know was that I suck and was just bluffing.

Few days ago I was shocked and logged back in unconscious and ever since then I randomly log in unconscious. Today I logged in unconscious again while in a field and after a minute was attacked by a zombie. I really didn't want to lose this character who has some decent gear to a bug so I alt f4. Logged back in and not I have a broken leg, bleeding with liwish blood. I know I won't survive this and feel a little pissed off I'm going to lose my 5 day old character die to a bug. I know the game is alpha but still, to lose a character in a survival game like this is a bit of a bummer. I guess I'll try to find a friendly medic and trade some gear.

Thanks for the offer HerrJon but I decided that since I'm new to the game the more I can learn the better :) So I decided to see if I could survive (I didn't) then find my body which I did and got all my gear back minus the ghillie suit which I'm actually pleased about since I believe they attract the wrong type of attention.

Tip from a newb. Start on low population servers untill you have learned how things work. You should also try out the boot camp on ARMA 2 before jumping into DAyZ

@OP Where did you rent the server from? I'm thinking of doing the same thing.

Every time I log in I fall unconscious and I also have a bleed I didn't know I had when I logged out. I got the bleed from a zombie who found the ability to run indoors and attack from a distance. I don't mind bugs being an alpha but will I bleed out before my unconscious timer ends?

Apprantly it's a known bug. I did log out in shock yesterday but but I wasn't in shock today

I found someones camp site not far from Stary Sobor (bit of a silly place imo) on a low population server which is obviously there to help farm the military tents. A lot of the tents were empty but some had food/drink ammo and a couple of rifles. I had the idea to take little bits from it as and when I need it but not make it to obvious (unless I find some NVGs) so it would allow the owners to fill their tents with confidence (excluding all bugs ofc) Does this make me a bandit or is it seen as a dirty move? I have no intention of killing anyone I see near the tents be it the owner or a bandit.

I fell of the steps while in a barn and got the shock symbol (didn't know it was shock at the time) walked outside and decided to abort while I looked up what the symbol ment. Ofc I logged back in unconscious and had a tense wait. My question is, once the symbol is gone am I no longer in shock? When I log back in will I be ready to go or could I fall unconscious again? Thanks.

I seem to have that bug but it only happens from time to time.
