I always sprint through the woods, crouch run around towns. If I'm in a really low pop server I'll just sprint through towns and duck into builds on occasion to shake the zed.

Those are some funny hacks. I almost want to applaud them... Almost. But yes, find a private hive with active admins, and hackers should no longer be a problem. You don't have to register or anything (unless it's a whitelist server). Do you use DayZ Commander?

Greatest load out ever: Crowbar and makarov.

Calling a clip a magazine doesn't change the fact that when you pull the trigger a bullet (or is it a round?) comes out.

All of these things go against the very idea of DayZ.

They could sustain themselves. Siege warfare was all about the ability of cities to sustain themselves for years on end while the enemy bombarded the city for months or even years. They were made for holding out hordes. What would be interesting would be if the infection got inside the walls.

Tin cans and crowbars are my weapons of choice. When you win a fight with those you completely demoralize your opponents. They'll be too ashamed to ever talk about their defeat.

Why do people care about dogs so much?

I'm American and call it Day Zee, but I call zombies, zed. I might just start calling them Po-ta-toes though. Does it take more time to pronounce? Yes. Is it a lot more fun to say? Hell yes!

The thing is we aren't living in a post apocalyptic setting, so you can't really compare the two. Plus, if society doesn't exist who is there to say what's right and what's wrong? In the apocalypse there would be no punishment for murder unless someone caught you and decided to punish you (which can totally happen in the game). I'm not even a bandit, but I don't want them to be punished by the game just because some people don't like it.

I'm sure people have varying opinions, but to me combat logging is when you log during a direct confrontation. If shots are fired at you and you Alt+F4 that's combat logging. If you see someone, but they don't see you there's no combat to log from. I know other people probably disagree, but that's my view.

I voted no. It ruins the immersion and suspense. I am all for an easy to read kill log available to admins, so they can be aware of any suspicious activity, but I don't want to know who killed me.

My first cold-blooded murder happened outside Kamenka. I was leisurely strolling along the railroad tracks towards Balota when I saw two fresh spawns with a train of zombies. They were on the shore near a dock and I yelled at them over direct to get on the dock and that I'll clean up the zombies with my hatchet. They listened and I managed to chop down all of them (6 or 7) while they waited patiently. I decided to be friendly and escort them to Cherno. I had my hands full because one of them did not know how to stay quiet. He kept aggroing zombies and I kept cutting them down. Finally he had the nerve to insult my hatchet skills. That sent me over the edge. I had set aside my own goals and risked my own life to help these new player. I decided to ignore the zombies and turned my blade on him. I broke his legs while the zombies finished him off. I let his friend go, since he had done me no wrong. I just warned him to never insult my ax work.

I can agree with increasing the rarity of top tier ammo and weapons. I think the major problem at the moment is the hacking and duping. If this was solved I think top tier stuff would actually be difficult to come across and if not then it could be decided how drastic the reduction should be.

I always play alone. I occasionally meet up with people, but I never use teamspeak or skype or anything. If I run into someone in-game and we part ways then I just move along and don't look back. Sometimes I just explore the country, hunt helicopters, gear up, all the normal stuff, but sometimes I decide to do stupid stuff. I'll play ax murderer in Cherno or gather up a zombie train and go for a jog up the coast. It's possible to have a lot of fun playing solo, sometimes you just have to get creative.

Either the Winchester or hatchet for me. Why bother with anything else? (Well except for the PDW I found once in a deer stand. It was pretty sweet)

Is it weird I kind of want to get kidnapped now? I'd really prefer anything over being immediately killed.

My first encounter with a survivor occurred after several weeks of playing. I had finally built up the courage to go into Elektro. I went into the firestation and as I was climbing the stairs I came face to face with a shotgun barrel. The guy was friendly and needed a transfusion and I tried to give it to him, but it didn't want to work, so we were both rather exposed up there. We had SMG rounds peppering the tower, but none of them could hit us. Just as I was about to complete the blood transfusion a bandit came up the stairs and he shot the survivor and the survivor managed to kill him with his shotgun. Both died immediately and as I was beginning to loot the corpses a sniper round went through my head. It made for an intense experience.

I like the idea of this. A lot actually. I could imagine walking along the side of the river, hearing a boat approaching, and diving into the brush before it arrives. Also a river would make the map a lot more interesting, since bridges would be required and those could make for some great bottlenecks.

It is possible to respawn. It takes some quick reflexes and at least a couple times, but it is possible to click respawn before it gets greyed out.

I had my first ax murder last night. I was freshly spawned after a hacker killed me. I spawned in Kamenka and quickly found an ax. As I was strolling down the beach towards Cherno I came across a couple of unarmed survivors running from a horde of zombies and I told them to run to dock for safety. They listened and sat there while I hacked the zombies to pieces. The three of us started off together and they were being careless and attracted another horde. I saved them yet again, but as I was finishing off the last two or three one of the survivors insulted my ax-wielding abilities. He told me I needed some practice. This set me off. I had risked my own life twice to keep this guy alive and he had the nerve to mock me. I ignored the last zombie and turned my bloodied blade towards him. I put him to the ground and walked away as that final zombie silenced his angry cries. I let his friend go and warned him to never insult a man with an ax.

In my several months of playing I've stuck with playing the neutral, solo survivor, but lately I've been itching to try out the ax-wielding psychopath lifestyle. It looks like so much fun.

If you ever want to end it all it's possible to click respawn before it greys out. It takes some quick reflexes and luck, but it is possible.
