I'm fine with blood bags requiring another player. I play solo and if I need blood I go hunting. It can be a bit time consuming, but it's a trade-off.

I didn't have to buy a new rig. I'm able to play it on my $650 laptop I use for school. On topic: this game elicits real emotions. You'll experience adrenaline rushes after firefights, you'll find yourself holding your breath when you see a heavily armed bandit sprint by.This game is unlike any other game I've ever played, but it's definitely not for everyone.

I've never had any serious problem with vehicles exploding easily. Except tractors. And then there's ATVs and their tendency to launch themselves into space. -

I was always kind of weary of joining, but I finally decided to take the plunge and I'm glad I did. Balota Buddies is the best group of servers I've ever played on. Essentially hacker free, active and friendly admins, plus the community is fantastic. -
First off this belongs in suggestions. Second, a defibrillator won't do much good on someone who has suffered multiple gun shot wounds. And lastly, what about someone who has been dead for 1-2 minutes? Do they just have to wait three minutes before they could be defibrillated?

You have to remember that DayZ is a mod of a super realistic military simulator, so the engine is not designed to accurately perform high speed car collisions, because, unfortunately, it's not considered a valid tactic by most modern militaries. That being said, I am hoping vehicle physics are improved for the standalone. -

It might have had side chat disabled. Without that the only way to talk to another survivor is if you used direct communication and that's only good within 50-100 meters.

What are your reasons for choosing a Private Hive?

I like the whitelist and active admins for the security of the server. I like the teamspeak and the separate forums for that sense of community (even though I'm still trying to be more a part of it). And I like the custom loot tables just because. -
The absolute first thing I do is look for a hatchet, matches, hunting knife, and water bottle. These are necessities. Nothing else is as important as these items (maybe add morphine to the list). Once you have those you have everything you need to survive in the wild, so you can move north searching barns for weapons. If I want to be daring I'll head into Cherno or Elektro and check out the firestations and supermarkets for a better weapon and a bigger bag.

Not all of us are bronies! But on topic: How can a high pop server gain a large player base if they don't advertise? It's a necessary evil. When you attract players you will also attract hackers. The best remedy is a group of active admins and/or a whitelist. -

But how would you be able to track it once you die? You'd need some kind of receiver. I do like the idea of being able to track survivors.

Yep that's what you have to do. Move a little distance away from the location you gave. You'll have the drop on them when they arrive, so you'll be in control of the situation.

I've done it a couple times when I needed medical attention. I had nothing to lose, so why not?

Some server admins will ban you, but you can't get global banned for carrying a hacked weapon.

I enjoy cruising around the map playing this over direct. The Joey Ramone cover is also enjoyable. I think it has a calming effect on players.
