STANAG ammo is fairly abundant and can be used in all M4/M16 variants (except SD rifles). Same applies to AK ammo. My preferred loadout: Primary: M14 AIM Secondary: Makarov SD (private hive)

Your mistake was driving an ATV. Those things are deathtraps. And about hitting cows and having them fly into oblivion. This mod is built on a mil-sim. The physics engine wasn't designed with people who rundown livestock in mind. Nothing can really be done about it in the mod. I'm pretty sure the SA will feature at least limited ragdoll physics.

I suggest loading up Arma II and running through some of the boot camp missions. It'll let you get the hang of the basics without worrying about hunger and thirst and bandits and zombies. -

I've retreated to whitelisted private server, so I don't even bother checking the population of the main hive anymore, so I can't say if the numbers really are dwindling, but if they it's probably related to the SA. Either people want a DayZ mod detox before playing the SA or new players are holding off on buy Arma because the standalone is (hopefully) right around the corner. also: fuck you inception. -

The one Dew I have found has granted me plenty of good luck. I found it in the first apartment I went into in Cherno (along with a ghillie). I carried it for about a week and over the course of the week I found my first crash site and walked away with an M14 and loaded with DMR mags. I finally had to drink it in a moment of desperation, but my luck has kept up. I've successfully avoided multiple helis, killed hundreds of zed, and haven't lost a bit of blood since. Apparently, I am cursed though. I have been completely unable to find a tent. -
AB+ is the universal recipient. Blood type would be irrelevant. And to address the antibiotic issue. Antibiotics should be common, since they're such a common type of medication and I see nothing wrong with helo crashes spawning them. Sometimes you have bad luck and find nothing but antibiotics when you're looking for an M14 and nothing but M107s when you are looking for antibiotics.

Maybe all the blood bags aren't O-? Maybe people with type AB+ blood were immune from the virus. If the only people left on earth had AB+ then the type of blood in the blood bag wouldn't matter. BOOM. Problem solved.

Take what you what and destroy everything else, but make sure to leave a thank you note via map marker. It's the polite thing to do.

I learned to speak Russian just for DayZ. Speaking English ruins the immersion for me. -

If I was a fresh spawn sure I'd help him. It'd be a fun situation with nothing to lose. If I was geared and came across him, I'd be more apt to leave him in the alley. -
Yes, yes I do. I stock up on DMR mags, wander in to town, kill some zed, help out new spawns, and leave.
