  1. Considering you "clicked" the link, why wouldn't the F be capitalized? If you clicked that link, and didn't simply type it as you saw it, and you got redirected, you have a google redirect and need to scan. And FYI, if you have gotten a google redirect, ESET, Norton, AVG, AVAST, and many more, won't take care of it. You need to scan with something that's designed to take care of rootkits. But still....what I said in my other replies =P.
  2. Oh, and I should note, if you have ESET Nod32, like you say you do, you would have no need for the other pieces of software. It catches everything. Again, I don't think you do, and I think you're spouting off nonsense. It won't allow you to install it with Norton, or AVG installed.
  3. Does it not redirect you to this also? Didn't redirect me. As for the guy saying he uses multiple AVs..... There is a reason that when you install Norton, or AVG, or Avast, or ESET, or any other actual AV, it tells you to make sure you uninstall any other AV, and some of them actually prevent you from installing so long as one is installed. Most "good" antivirus programs will come with active scanning. You can only have one running at a time. Most AV's will conflict with each other, and cause degrading performance for each piece of software. Installing something like ESET and something like Malwarebytes, is fine, unless you turn on (paid) Malwarebytes' active scanning. Also, you said you have Norton installed? Norton gives more viruses than it protects against. Also, just FYI, you cannot install ESET with another AV installed (such as Norton and AVG) it will tell you its installed and force you to uninstall it. So....troll much? =P

    Anyone else experienced this?

servers you well' date=' you had logged of in a general store right? why the hell you you log off in a urban location atall? and worst of all in a store... [/quote'] Has the possibility of maybe server disconnects or loss of internet or power never crossed your mind? He could have been DC'ed in one shape or form, and simply re-logged where he was DC'ed.
  5. Zombies: 1911 Players: CZ550 or any assault rifle, AKM, M16, M4, doesn't matter. Got engaged by 4+ players last night, got hit several times from a shotgun and AK, got out of dodge and broke line of sight, bandaged and healed up with some meat, went 800m out and sniped 2 of them because they were stupid enough to stay there. No loot is good enough to die trying to get to. They should have left /shrug. Any high powered rifle, CZ550, M24 (if you can find it) is awesome to have in a group. If you're solo, go with an AKM (more widely available) or M4/M16 or w/e you come across. Pickup a 1911 and you're good. I use my 1911 solely on zombies, it kills in 1 shot, no need to waste ammo using an assault rifle =P. Also, it needs to be noted that people seem to think that military buildings means strictly barracks and the like....Let me inform you that all fire stations, deer stands, and some random buildings I don't know what to call, are all indeed "military buildings." Which means: military loot. There is a list of what loot spawns in what type of building. But to sum it up: military loot. That means assault rifles, nvgs, grenades, etc. While the highest % change the loot will be there for a certain item is higher in say, a crashed Huey, it still has a chance to spawn say, a DMR in a deer stand.
  6. You have a google redirect. Better run some rootkit scans.

FPS drops when aiming down iron sight

Welcome to ArmA :). It's just how ArmA is sometimes. It doesn't happen all the time, but it mostly only happens when you're looking towards a heavily populated/lots of forrest area.

    Winchester Sound

It's no louder, if not less loud than a 45 pistol.

WTF is happening to the server community.

Actually, Rocket said to suggest "mechanics" not "wishy washy ideas."

No, people say they want the game harder. This makes the game harder. I don't see you suggesting any actual mechanics.

New Mechanic: Allow Bandits (and only Bandits) to take hostages. Those hostages eventually get pregnated and spawn a baby after some time. (Random time so they can't just time it and kill the person before the baby spawns). When baby spawns, well, its a baby and it cries like a bitch. Zombies....everywhere! Now....Bandit has zombies coming all over the place. The Bandit's bitch has zombies coming all over the place....and now there is a baby, what to do? Some white knight come to the rescue? Bandit kill baby? What do? ETA: Or, make random people spawn in as women. Said women get pregnant randomly if they are around other players (men) long enough. Same situation.

WTF is happening to the server community.

Simple: More spawns means less crowding in the same area. Problem currently: Too many people spawning in and around Chern and Electro. Too many people spawning on the same coast. Too many bandits camping Chern, and some camping Electro. Putting people on the West side, and the East coast, splits the chances of people spawning next to each other, and clearly away from the fire. Have you actually been on the West or East side of the map? It's not very populated, and there is plenty of cover.

WTF is happening to the server community.

The airfield spawns a Helo, I say put the spawn further south if you want it to be that close to Berezino. I'm all for it, but put the spawn further south. Make people have to huff it to the Airfield.

WTF is happening to the server community.

Here is an idea for a "mechanic" so to speak. Move the spawns from the coast in the south, to the coast on the east and the Forrest on the west. Or....move spawns away from Chern and Electro altogether. Most PKing happens in, and around Chern, and Electro. Bandits camp ontop of Chern waiting on newbies to spawn and run towards the closest city for loot. What will this accomplish? A: Puts players away from the "main hotzone" where people are constantly dieing right away, right now. B: populates the west and east coast of the map, instead of throwing everyone on the coast in the south. C: People spawning on the West side of the map have plenty of cover to hide. With plenty of villages to pillage for loot. People on the East coast have plenty of villages and a fairly large city to pillage and loot, with plenty of spots to hide. Albeit more zombies on the East coast than the West side of the map. D: Puts a hurting on the bandits sniper camping in Chern. Maybe they will be less inclined to camp those spots, and instead "go out and hunt" instead of camping a spawn area. E: Puts more "Survival" in for people wanting more Survival. How so? If you get spawned in the middle of nowhere on the left side of the map, many of the people who keep respawning have probably never been there. Meaning they'll be lost. It is much more difficult to figure out "where" you are without a map and compass when you are spawned in the middle of the woods, and have never been there. Will it last? Not for some, yes for others. The coast is an easy thing to follow. Spawn on coast: head one way or the other until you find a city. Spawn in woods: ???WTF??? I would even say put a spawn West side, East side, and Center, with say 1 or 2 along the southern coast still. Another "mechanic" below. Allow us to form Squads, like in normal ArmA 2, or like ACE or PR. If it's possible, allow us to form "groups" the have some form of function. Maybe the ability to know, regardless of server settings, who the people are in your group just by looking at them.

I don't see the problem. People PK, it happens. You can't trust anyone other than the people you know and are on voice comms with. Not that kind of player? Too bad. You can't solo in a Zombie Apoc and except not to get backstabbed by some random guy you happen across. My group, roughly 15 people, all on TS, all play roughly at the same time. We don't run into this problem. Someone needs help, we get them out of the main area, get them geared and get them with the main group. We come across someone who is not in our group, we kill them, on sight. Too many times have we come across someone, who then tagged along and followed us, to either kill someone in the group later, or fire shots randomly to attract zombies to kill the group. 1: Get a group of friends, all on comms. 2: Get away from the coast. 3: Stay out of Chern. 4: Get geared. 5: Kill on sight anyone not in group, because they're after your gear, food, or other supplies. No one outside the group can be trusted. Learn to deal with it. Last death I was alive for 13 days. This death so far, 4 days.

    A question about infected speeds

Here in lies the problem. This is a game. This is Arma. Arma has a very, not so great prediction system which causes lag on a client so sometimes, more often than not, the person running towards you or away, is lagging around the screen. It happens even with AIs. As fast as the Zombies are right now, it's nearly impossible to shoot them while they're running. You have to wait on them to stop and then shoot. Most people when they aggro a group of zombies, they run into a building to make them walk. Why is that? I'm not saying I don't want them fast. They just need to be toned down enough so that ArmA 2 can handle them correctly and give the best experience possible. I'd love them to stay fast. I just want them toned down enough so they aren't just nearly impossible to hit while they're sprinting to us.
