we need a good theme song that gives you the basic situation of DayZ. as I said before, let some artist or just casual gamer with knowledge compose a track and give the best one a fair amount of money. it will be a 3 monts competition and the best one is chosen by the community and at last by the Devs. its easy.

Also, why is everyone so posessed with lyrics? Most theme songs for games dont even have lyrics. The theme song has to express the overall feeling in the game. So f.e. Fallout 3 had a really depressing but in some point epic theme song. It showed the listener that the overall situation in Fallout is dangerous, depressing, sad, violent but also impressive and epic. /edit Check out how epic this menu theme for "EOD" for Battlefield 1942 is. I think some dont understand that a company cant just take a song from someone else and use it for their videogame. They need to pay for using it or they buy the rights. The more popular a song etc is, the more money the record company wants. (in most cases) I would suggest: Bohemia Interactive and especially the DayZ dev guys open a competition about creating a piece of music for the theme song. (or THE theme song) The winner that made the best piece will get an amount of money. (previously announced by BI)

Yes. It is almost confirmed. There is so much talk about it, I would shit bricks if it wouldnt make it into the game at some point. IMO you should be able to gut dead bodies and keep the meat in your inventory or store it in doggy bags. There should be the possibility to get diseases from it...not sure if you easily get "Kuru" or if its just localy in Papua New Guinea or if its worldwide. Hello my fellow survivors! I just got my SSD from Amazon and it took me a while to install it. Now that im done I ported some of my Steam games, including DayZ, to my new drive and tested them out. The result in DayZ Standalone was gigantic FPS improvement in major cities. (I always had good FPS in the woods or other minor areas) I am using the: Intel Core i5 cpu @2,57 GHz NVidia GeForce GTX 660 12 gigs of RAM Windows 7 64bit My drives are: 1.24 TB HDD 122 GB HDD (OS) 232 GB SSD Before SSD was installed and DayZ was ported to it: 50+ frames in non city areas 30 with major drops down to 15 - 20 After SSD was installed and DayZ was ported to it: 60+ frames in non city areas 50 - 60 frames in major cities. Anyone with the same experience?

Rocket already mentioned that about high level gear such as NVGs. there will be a total amount on the hive, once the amount is reached, there will no mor NVGs be spawning.

hm...but srsly, i dont really believe that having a game on an ssd is killing it. many people use ssd for rendering videos.

I think thats why it tells me here that if I want to delete bigger amounts of files on my SSD, I should use the safe erase in the "Magician" program

What you mean is roleplaying. Sadly most people dont do it. I like it, but in this alpha state its not worth it ;) Youll die to some bug or smth and you get ripped out of your role.

money wont work in this game. people are traveling mostly alone or in groups through lonely areas without any human encounters. While alone your money is worthless. Only if you find another person you can convert material goods into money and vice versa. So, people rather trade items that they can use during their travels. Instead of having the money to eventually trade it at some point for items. Also, people will just be dickheads and kill everyone instead of having a fair trade.

if they want "all your stuff" just run or fight. There is no difference between dying and losing all your stuff. So, if they tell you to drop a certain item, just drop it. If you are allowed to keep most of your items you should accept the offer.
