I'm all for the big maps, but is this getting too big? Considering the max server population, you risk not meeting anyone, which kinda kills the suspense and having to be on the guard all the time.

Experimental Branch: 0.50 Discussion

This still on experimental? Wow, it's been over a month. Talk about a failed game. Mods like Breaking Point for Arma 3 got a way faster progress and a way smaller team. -

I don't know what others are doing, but I'm holding onto mine. I only have this one and it's my first hand grenade in SA. Tempted to just test it but I got a fully upgraded AKM and considering my luck I'll probably just blow myself up. But since I am suicidal I do tend to run with it in hands while looting high risk locations. -

I found 2. One in the middle of NW airfield and one about 2 clicks east of it. Nothing really special except one had pristine ACOG and the other a hand grenade. -
It's amazing how I never learn. Being the nice guy who likes to avoid conflict. I was almost next to the guy who didn't see me, with my weapon drawn. He just ran away, without noticing me, as I watched him run. Then he stopped, I though, okay I'm just gonna move behind this corner and wait until he runs past me and on his merry way. 15 seconds later I got shot. I think I need to somehow force myself to think that there are no friendly players in this game and that I should just shoot. Sorry, had to vent somewhere.

One thing that bothered me a lot in both mod and SA is that we can pretty quickly get a lot of items, especially those who server jump. In my opinion, you get hungry and thirsty way too fast. It's not realistic at all. Make food and water scarce, but increase the time needed to eat and drink.

It's simple, the loot should be personal, but with a little twist, the longer you survive, the better loot will spawn. I haven't really though very long about this idea, but it could fix few things: 1) Your survival skill will be rewarded. The longer you survive, the better gear you'll find. 2) Bandits will be extremely careful and usually won't run around fully geared out. Unless they really are skilled. 3) People whining about loot being too easy should be silenced. Negative: 1) Would probably encourage more KoS, but fixing KoS issues should be done some other way (wanted status, npc headhunters, etc), this is strictly to encourage immersion. 2) Some people might not like not getting lucky with that M5 that just happened to spawn in a septic tank.

SLI/Crossfire in DayZ, does it work?
Anarki (DayZ) replied to Anarki (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Thanks for the replies. I currently run two 670 in SLI and was thinking about upgrading to a single 780ti which is only few fps faster. But it's not worth upgrading if I won't see much difference. I know one gpu is always better than two, but SLI actually works great compared to what I hear about Crossfire and its issues. Still, it just might not be worth it to upgrade in my case. -

On the positive side, you can now run fast with a weapon in your hands. -
0.42 patch notes added to 0.37 patch notes which got added to 0.36 patch notes. See the pattern?

Yeah make a new goddamn thread for 4.2 because this "adding new changes to the last patch changes to make it look like more job was done" is getting really lame! -

If your PP's turned off you can't be much of a man
Anarki (DayZ) replied to crimsonbzd's topic in General Discussion
I paid €3000 for my PC 13 months ago. I still have low fps in DayZ and Arma II/III. It's not my pc, It's not people having crappy computers, it's shit programming from the developers. It's proven that Arma engine renders shit even though you don't see it, resulting in insane fps drops. I don't even remember if I have post processing on. But is it cheating? Why the fuck should you care what I have on or off? You think it's cheating? The option is there, use it and stop crying like a little bitch. Also, what are you running on that GTX 460? Some modified .ini file with ultra low settings? -

I am beginning to question the priority Rocket and his team are making. Who cares about a new emote? Really? In this game there's not enough time to show the finger to the enemy. Start working on small yet extremely important things, like loot respawn and tents. Or if the server load is already too big, how about you fix that first before letting us do new emotes (which I and I'm pretty sure 95% of the community doesn't use). -
Lootable Buildings are Becoming an Endagered Species

Careful, you might be called server hoppers because you're complaining about this issue. It's common on this forum. -

No tents? Added penalty to server hopping but haven't fixed LOOT RESPAWN? Are you trying to make the game a bitch to play? I appreciate log in delay to prevent server hopping, but c'mon, fix loot respawn! Running for 15 minutes just to find some loot is lame. Guess I won't be playing DayZ for at least another week. -
Another thread about TENTS! Yes, yet another! Because if we had TENTS, the game would be so much more fun! Because TENTS would make it more interesting since you can put stuff in TENTS. So you know, TENTS make you go out and farm stuff, then maybe find a TENT, and set up a hidden base somewhere, then maybe you can find another TENT so you can put that TENT inside your old TENT! And then you can maybe find another TENT! And then I can go looking for TENTS. And maybe find your TENT. Then rob your TENT and build my own base with TENTS! Do developers understand that by creating something as simple as TENTS they can make the game a lot more enjoyable. So vote for TENTS! We need them goddamn TENTS!
-
Fixing all those things would not make the game as enjoyable as something as small as implementing TENTS.

Server hopping is not the problem. Loot not respawning is the problem. I admit that I server hop, but really, I have played mod for 10 or so months and didn't server hop ONCE. Now whenever I see a bunch of opened drops I just /sigh and log another one.

With Work, I Wish I Had Friends To Play This Game With
Anarki (DayZ) replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
I wish I had no friends so I could play alone. I play very carefully and it's extremely rare that someone surprises me. And if someone gets lucky it's extremely hard to get me since I'm pro at getting the fuck away. But my friends are Rambo's. They think they can go out and fuck everyone up. And they drag me to hell with them because if I don't go then I never see the end to their whine. -

I agree that it's progressing nicely, I disagree that it will take so short time to fix the game. The servers are already laggy. And there's only 50 player limit. I'd like to see about 100. There are very few zombies. No animals. No vehicles. No player made buildings. Imagine a server with 200 vehicles, 100 players, full zombies, animals, bunch of player bases... yeah, I think they are faaaaar away from implementing everything. I'm even skeptical about if they will pull it off.
