New Bandit house added to the woods somewhere, with very rare loot. Also will be fixing chopper spawn points at devils castle this evening.

We are currently looking into getting a dedicated server for BGUS asap but unfortunately it is going to cost us a lot more than we are currently paying for our server. There are many benefits to having a dedicated server; greater customization, easier administration, custom content, etc. There should also be at least a 400% increase in performance of the server, which will hopefully allow us to look into having multiple servers running off a single hive database. We are unable to cover the entire cost of the server (approx £100 or $160) and are therefore asking for any and all donations from our community to help us achieve our goals. Please, if you are able, donate money toward the upkeep of the server. Once we have the dedicated server up and running, to ensure that we have the funds to maintain it, we will be offering some kind of bonus/reward system for donating. We havn't decided exactly what it will be yet, we must consider game balance & integrity, but it will probably take the form of having a custom skin or maybe something else in game. I am currently looking at getting a dedicated server primarily to run a dayz server off and I have a few questions. Which version of windows server should I get, 2008 core standard edition or 2012? The provider I'm looking at is charging half as much for 2012, wondering if there is any major difference between them? And can anyone recommend any decent providers in Europe, preferably UK, NL or France? Cheers guys.

Everything apart from whitelist, dont see the point, hackers just sign up anyway.

I both like & dislike this kind of community ban list. Likes: Once a hacker is caught, they are caught on every server (obvious) Dislikes: - It is open to abuse from bad admins - Bans can be false positives - When banning a hacker from my server, I don't often have the time to record & submit evidence. I want them off my server ASAP Things also tend to become cloudy when hackers are influencing other players(eg, spawning items for them, teleporting them, etc) The only time my admin group has banned someone who wasn't hacking is due to a player picking out of a hacker box. I'm not sure what to make of this to be honest. :/

This can be quite common, it is often difficult for admins to find out who has hacked their server. Although i'm not realy sure why he would pick you out of everyone else on the server.

judging by a recent stream from a well known youtube, whitelists dont protect you as much as you think. During the process of the stream, on a whitelisted server, they must have had at least 20 hackers teleport to them and attempt to kill them.

There are quite a few groups on the server at the moment. With regards to finding one that you can join, that can be tricky, most people are very distrusting in the game and don't like outsiders joining their groups. If your just looking for a companion then the best way is to try and find someone in game, if your wanting a group then your best bet is to either prove that you are a trustworthy player or perhaps create your own group and advertise on the dayz forums or our website. I know its a bit of a glum view but that's just how people are in this game ^^ An old EVE quote: "Never trust anyone who you can't go punch in the face..."

Rangefinders cannot be found on our server. However a few people have obtained them from dead hackers, so we've let certain people keep hold of them. We do however keep track of who they are :)

After discussing this incident with the rest of my admin team we have deemed it acceptable to present the following evidence as it has been deemed to have little to no impact upon our players. The tents & vehicles shown in this image have been abandoned by their owners allowing us to show them in this way. Timeline: - You left Novy heading straight for Tent 1 in the woods - You went directly from Tent 1 to Tent 2 (ignoring the bus that was clearly in front of it, perhaps presuming the tent to be a higher value target) - You then headed to the Bus - From the Bus you went in yet another straight line into Tent 3 - From Tent 3 you headed to a Motorbike - From the motorbike you headed directly for Tent 4 - After checking Tent 4 you proceeded to head toward a UAZ - An admin banned you before you reached the UAZ By your own admission you have only played on BGUS for 1 day before this incident, our admins flagged up some suspicions soon after you joined when they noticed you were a fresh spawn with full survival gear (including GPS), NVGs and range finders (which cannot be obtained legitimately in game). So we kept a very close eye on you and your companions which allowed us to come to the final conclusion that you were in fact cheating. Assuming that you were just some script kiddie who would either whine, lie or beg, the admin responsible for the ban refused an audience with you. Your friend continualy tried to assure us that you were "not a dumbass" and "have never spawned anything". Unfortunately our staff consider cheating discreetly to be just as bad as cheating overtly. Well I hope this clears up this matter, Kind regards, Vonlinchen PS: On a personal note, this kind of open ended flame on a public forum is not the proper way to contest a ban. If you would like we can submit our evidence, logs and notations to the community bans group and see what they make of the matter. A second opinion, if you will.
