  1. SARGE AI mode added with the following features:

    General

    - no addons on the clientside needed

    - tested with Dayz 1.7.5.1, should also work with 1.7.6.x

    - supported maps: see above

    - easy install (dedicated script folder, started by init.sqf)

    - optimized for server performance, all AI handled on the server

    - highly configurable

    - relies on 2 other script packages: UPSMon and SHK_pos (included in the archive)

    Functionality

    • player triggered AI (same concept as Dayz's zombie spawn, this prevents "unused" AI on the map)

    - 3 AI factions:

    1. AI survivors (shoot Zeds and player bandits)
    2. AI bandits (shoot Zeds and player bandits/player survivors)
    3. AI soldiers (shoot Zeds, AI bandits and player bandits)

    • Dynamic "enemy" handling - only units near players will be made "unfriendly" towards Zeds / Bandits etc.

    • Randomized gear/skins and group setups(leader/sniper/riflemen)
    • Randomized patrol waypoints around the player
    • preconfigurable sizes of groups, number of groups and probability of groups spawning close to player

    • static AI configureable (e.g. put a group of bandits in Devils Castle, let 30 soldiers protect your camp, etc.)
    • static Heli patrols predefined (Chernarus south coast, east coast, airfields). custom patrols configurable.
    • automatic despawn if no players present anymore in the area
    • killed AI bodies get deleted after a short amount of time (reduce server lag)

    cool beans, love it.

One thing i noticed with Epoch mod was that if you owned a vehicle and locked it while someone was in the back seat, they were locked in and werent allowed to switch seats or get out. pretty much the only thing they could do was access the cars gear or log out. if the car is empty it makes for some funny moments. I locked my buddy in for a good 10 minutes last night while he grew ever so angry, but next ill be taking a bus full of hostages.

  3. Epoch rocks, the current faction wars are intense......and frustrating!

    Tell me about it. Between the two groups though we've definitely had some good fights. the jeep vs chinooks were the best though i most say. still wish i wouldve recorded that shit. ive been playing with night time this past hour and its a bitch, im just addicted to the intensity of night. :D


  4. Whenever I consider a weapon I think about what we actually see being used in those regions, and what would likely be found there... I don't like the idea of a random pot-pourri of tacticool weapons. That seems like something that belongs in CoD or Battlefield or Rainbow Six, and that works well there, but not in something going for an immersive and realistic world.

    Eg, sure the Remington MSR and the Micro-Tavor are cool rifles, but I don't think they belong in DayZ.

    There are Russian made bullpups as pointed out earlier though. OTS-14 i think someone has stated already


  5. Realistically youd be able to break down virtually any weapon of this era and place the pieces in a backpack with the barrel being the only thing to be an issue.

    then again breaking down a weapon completely is a job that takes at least 5 - 10 seconds for the most experienced and trained people. not to mention placing the items into your pack, which you wouldnt want to just toss in.


  6. The server I currently play on spawns them just they have little to no ammo,

    But I still think the enfield is a very good weapon and I'd probably take it over most other weapons on the coast.

    Id agree in regards to the enfield. it is to me one of the most reliable weapons in the game. Im content with that.
