    The Brave Justiciars

I went into predator mode. Or as some call it, full retard.
  2. I'm tired of hopping from server to server, and would like to settle down. Few specific criteria: Needs to be fairly active, with an average of at least 20+ survivors online. No cross-hairs. No third-person. Preferably no side chat. No AS50s or M107s. Whitelisted. I would prefer a North American server, but I've been able to play EU servers.
  3. I prefer close-quarters combat to constant sniper dueling. I enjoy the threat of snipers, and they would make a cool addition to the game, but as it is now sniper rifles are broken. Here's my reasoning: As it is now, there is no reason to choose a Lee Enfield over, say, an AS-50. In real life, one would perhaps choose a Lee Enfield because it's a more versatile weapon. It's easier to handle and it's lighter. In DayZ, no such concept exists. There are only four important variables when it comes to DayZ's weapons: Damage, rate of fire, noise and sights. The fourth is easily avoided when playing on servers that allow crosshairs.

    DayZ Developer Blog 8th March

I wonder if the alpha will be released before he goes to Mount Everest. It'd be nice to know if there's even a remote possibility of that happening-- but I think we can all appreciate him not giving us a release date until the time is right.

As an occasional bandit, I love this. I love being theatrical. Getting up close, holding them at gunpoint and just making a damn show out of it!

The pathfinding bit was great. It's nice to see that zombies will go from annoying to threatening. Question now is: will we have enough bullets to kill 'em all? I dearly hope not.

I think what's shown in the video is the new urban area.
  8. Well, I'm willing to join a server with high-caliber sniper rifles, if it's not commonly-found.

    Customization for DayZ Standalone

Actually a very good example. Crafting your own persona is just as important as killing in the long run, if you want to be renowned. In any case, the individuality always serves to deter panic-shooting. When you don't visually associate killer to all survivors, you'll think twice about shooting, while remaining wary.

    Shock and broken leg

I like the idea of losing blood when you move while grievously wounded. Incentive for team-mates to actually carry you along. Ugh, combat rolls.

    Zombie killing Incentive

If you're discovered by zombies, everything should go to hell.

    Shooting From Vehicles

Firing your weapon while the vehicle is moving will clearly be wildly innacurate-- it's a tough thing to do. Now, you should be able to fire your rifle from a car, but since there's often little room in a vehicle, it should be somewhat more innacurate than on foot, even if the vehicle is at a standstill.

    Custom textures/drawings on clothes...

I don't like it, but not for the technical reasons. It detracts from gameplay; finding camouflaged clothing will be worthless, since you can do it yourself. Every article of clothing with any practical use the default spawn doesn't have should be maddeningly dangerous and difficult to find.

    Zombie AI proposal

You can have all my beans, good sir.
  15. The Justiciars have suffered many terrible defeats! We mourn for our brethren, and God help us.

    KoS, an examination

Item durability should reduce KoS. Hopefully, bandits will attempt to "hold-up" players and make them drop their gear before executing them. That's always fun.

    Suicide Option? More Suggestions....

If they implement a suicide option, please, oh please, implement a respawn timer. Five minutes is reasonable.

Chance to go crazy if Z hits the player

I freak the hell out in DayZ. Whenever I'm in a firefight or zombies are eating me, my hands shake uncontrollably, my pulse quickens and I make stupid fear-based decisions which I regret upon dying. Each player is different, and this should be reflected in their survivors. The great thing about this game is that you will be afraid of dying, and it will affect you enough already!

    suggestion: Caves?

    Please add mines.
  20. The server turned into a bloodbath! Awesome!

Groups, Radios and the GPS (Long Read)

Imagine if they could block you from running Teamspeak, Mumble, Skype, etc. :D
  22. Topic has been updated with a very simple list of changes and features. There are almost a hundred fixes and added features in DayZ Redux. Here are a few of the most popular ones: Combat loggers (ALT+F4) are instantly killed and leave a corpse behind. Rare Chloroform spawns have been added. You can use it just like a blood bag, and it will knock your victim unconscious for 3.5 minutes. Vehicle inspection has been added, which pops up an interface with any and all damaged parts when you select "inspect" on your vehicle. Any vehicle can be flipped. Despite it being unrealistic, the feature was implemented as a solution to DayZ buggy vehicle moments. Zombies can hear fired weapons 15% further. Crates can be built, using nails and wood. Smaller and more easily-concealed than tents, but with reduced storage space. Tents and crates can be set on fire using a box of matches. This destroys their content and deletes them from the database. New environments, that make exploring certain otherwise boring areas worthwhile. Hardcore spawns. No backpacks, no mercy. Helicopter crashes spawn at random times during the "life" of a server. New crash sites. Over five different kinds to explore, with varying degrees of fire and smoke. Have fun finding them. All snipers removed except for the CZ550 and the M24. Both are rare, and ammo only spawns with the weapon. Higher zombie density. Horde, anyone? New vehicles, including the HMMWV and Vodnik. Enforced play area. No more off-map camping Personal transfusion kits can be created inside of a hospital, using a regular blood bag. 30% chance of draining blood and losing consciousness.
  23. DayZ Redux's US1 server is a non-stop, raging battlefield during peak hours. Bandits, and purely anti-bandit militant clans (Justiciars), make the rivers run red with blood. We desperately need more hero or neutral clans to re-balance the server. If you're a proficient medic or trader clan, please do give DayZ Redux a look. This is somewhat like the challenges extended to Bandit clans. But mostly, it's a plea for help-- the denizens of Redux need saviors.
  24. I said before that we needed bandit clans... I realize now we're lacking a lot of neutral and friendly groups! Where are the medics and traders?! The closest we've got to friendly now seems to be the Justiciars, and we're a bunch of assholes.
