  1. Because there is barely any interaction even WITH bandit skins. It's not 'survival', it's a CoD deathmatch except you don't start with any guns and the maps are 100 KM wide.

It's this way so that the people who treat the game like a deathmatch are at least maked as such. You know that person has killed a lot of people. It's a flawed system, but without it, the game devolves even further.

Personally, I agree with a 'negative limit' to humanity. People will always abuse the system to get the hero skin just so they can then go out and be cunts. You shouldn't be realistically permanently a bandit for killing a hero that decided to kill you.

Though, losing humanity for killing bandits? Nu-uh. I shoot bandits on sight. I see a rag-head, I pop it. Why? Because generally speaking, bandits in this game are glorified greifers.

A better solution would be to make zombies much harder (like they will be in the standalone), so we wouldn't pretty much wouldn't have a choice but to team up.

I imagine big cities like Elektro, Cherno and Berezino having AT LEAST 10x as many zombies and being able to run in doors.

  2. I never understood why we needed a humanity system. DayZ is supposed to be a zombie apocalypse simulator. If I shoot 10 people, I won't magicly wear other clothing.

If people see someone they don't know, they should talk to them (just like you would in a "real" zombie apocalypse), and take it from there, or shoot them on sight because of whatever.

Note: I am a bandit, but I never lie and say I am friendly just to shoot you in the back.

  3. ✔ Hacking and such is not condoned in any way. Totally hacker free (as far as we know) for months

✔ Admins abusing powers is a no-go. One admin. He's over 40 years old and owns a gaming centre. Friendly, responsible and active.

✔ Killing players in any way is allowed Not if they are new spawns on the coast. Unarmed and north, yes. Armed and on coast, yes.

    ✔ No tags

✔ No bullet traces Dayz Commander shows tracers on for a few minutes after restart, but then it goes off.

✔ Private hive Pre-paid for at least another 6 months.

X No third person You'll be very limited in your choice of servers if you want first-person only.

✔ No shift click marker on the map You can make a personal marker, but the waypoint system is disabled.

    ✔ No crosshair

    ✔ No deathmessages

    ✔ Chernarus

    ✔ Whitelist

    Bonuses:

✔ Server runs the latest v175 community beta (which means you need to download 3 PBO files).

✔ Teamspeak server is provided, and unlike most other servers, most people use it and team up with each other.

The rule is: don't shoot the people in your TS channel, but everyone else is a legitimate target.

✔ Usually between 5-25 players - time to gear-up, repair vehicles, pitch tents and raid camps when it's not busy, and plenty of PvP when it is.

If you want 40 players on all the time, which usually just results in constant deathmatching, then this server may be too quiet for you.

The server is Wireworld EU (based in UK). Wireworld runs the very latest community beta patch. Follow the instructions in the above link - basically join the lobby and get kicked (this is so your player name and id is logged in the database), then email the address in the 'kick message' with your GUID, and finally download the latest beta (3 PBO files) from the link you're given. The details of the TS server are in the lobby message if you get stuck.

Will be checking that out, thanks :)

  4. Why not give the UK based Balota Buddies a try?

It's ran by a couple of the DayZ forum admins and it's meant to be quite good from what I've heard:

    http://dayzmod.com/f...-across-europe/

It's where I'd give a try if I was playing at the moment - unfortunately with exams coming up I'm stuck with studying and sitting on the forums.

Seems interesting, but their site isn't working nor can I see any UK 46 server :(

  5. Good luck finding no admin abuse. Almost all admins use the "Admin map" where they can see where all the players and vehicles are. Whether they like or not, they're seeing everything. The location of that Huey'll be in their subconscious mind and one day they'll be like, "Oh I think I remember a heli in this spot!". The last 2 servers I've admin'd on, the owner's done it.

They do exist, though. I used to play on US NY 1 and I am sure the admins (clan Born To Lose) did not abuse their admin powers there.

But yes, as you say, hard to find...

If I have to look to long I'll just start my own server -.- Just can't believe I am the only one who wants a server like this.

  6. It also helps if you post where in the world you are located so a suitable server nearby can be found for the best ping.

Just a little heads up :)

I don't think it makes a big difference. I live in Denmark and used to play on a US server where I had just under 100 ms latency, while I have usually under 10 ms latency on German servers. The difference is miniscule (but there), but I doubt there are enough servers in the world of this kind for me to be picky :P

Thanks for the heads up though!

  7. I've been looking for a decent private hive to settle down on for a while and haven't been able to find one that quite fits my criteria, which imo aren't that "strict", but I guess I am wrong.

    Things that are a must:

Hacking and such is not condoned in any way; no "special permissions" for friends

Admins abusing powers is a no-go (been playing on a private hive for a few days now and just found out 3 of the admins almost always have their admin powers on do what I consider as abusing them)

Killing players in any way is allowed (even unarmed players) - not that I am a massmurderer ingame, just don't think this is something that should be admined but be left to the players

No tags (player name and distance on mouseover)

    No bullet traces

    Private hive

Things that would be nice, but not required:

    No third person

No shift click marker on the map

    No crosshair

    No deathmessages

Doesn't have to be on Chernarus, I can do Lingor aswell (and namalsk if you've edited out the scoped railgun)

    Whitelist

A bit about me: I am mostly a loner since I just came back to day z around a week ago, but I am trying to get my friends to play again. My playstyle is what most people call banditting, though I am not the type of person to act as a "friendly" ingame only to shoot you in the back.

  8. Hello, my name is Motaghi and I am looking for YOU!

I have just started playing Day Z and realized it can be a LOT more fun if played with more people. While being a lone wolf does have its thrills, playing in a group seems to a be a lot more fun. I have 1 friend who used to play Day Z and is willing to start playing if I can gather a few more people, but I haven't been able to "convert" anyone else, yet.

About me, as a Day Z'er:

I have only just started playing Day Z, with only 2-3 hours of time spent in game. I am generally a quick learner when it comes to games and a bit of a "theorycrafter" (I like numbers!) and am usually the guy who knows the technical stuff when it comes to games, and I don't think Day Z will be any different once I get properly started. When I meet people I will most likely shoot them on sight (if I am in a position to kill them without them getting away), hide and slip away (if they seem friendly/too powerful), or hide and ambush them. I would classify myself as a mix of "lawful evil" and "neutral evil", for those of you who are D&Ders.

    About me, games in general:

As I wrote earlier, I have been playing console and (mostly) PC games since forever. The games I have played the most are without a doubt RPGs, but I have also spent a not-inconsiderable amount of time on shooters, mainly Counter-Strike (pre-1.6 and 1.6 - hated CS: Source) and Quake 3 and consider myself good at aiming, at least good enough to win a few quake 3: RA and pro mode tournaments at LANs. I go to a LAN party or two every year and I will be trying to convert people to play Day Z at them from now on. ;)

    About me, IRL:

I am 25 years old and live in Denmark and speak English and Danish fluently. I work in IT (as a consultant) so I have my "hardware" in order, meaning I don't have problems with computer or network lag (except maybe server lag ;)), bad microphone, etc. I consider myself an "above average" gamer; mainly because I am good at analyzing stuff and keeping calm. I almost never rage, and when I do, I make sure my mic is turned off :P I am quite cheerful and usually the guy who is calm and cheerful after a loss. I play from 18:00-01:00 GMT+1 (CET) on weekdays and at kind of "random" times on weekends (I have no real obligations on weekends so I am quite flexible).

People that I DO NOT want to play with:

People who rage/whine a lot: I don't mind you getting mad once in a while, you are human... but if I have to listen to someone whining 24/7 I will go mental myself. It's a game! If you get shot and killed, make sure they pay back tenfold!

Hackers, cheaters, glitchers, etc.: Reason should be self-explanatory. I have zero respect for those people.

People who can't carry their own load: If we travel in a team we will help each other, that is a given, but if you have to be helped and supervised constantly I am not the guy for you :) I myself am a Day Z newb, but like to stand on my own and am kind of stubborn about receiving help.

People who "panic" or don't want to follow through: I see this too often, mostly in younger gamers; people who panic when they get in a situation where they have few or no outs and simply throw their hands up in the air and give up or have a small anxiety attack. Never give up!

    Motaghi, over and out.
