how is being shot in the toenail and instantly dying authentic? and it's already nerve-racking enough seeing someone with a gun because as soon as they see you they're gonna shoot. 1 hit kill would make it bloody ridiculous.

i agree with everything you said apart from the 'server hopping' part. anyone could just join an empty server and do exactly the same thing.

what is the concept of dayZ then? am i missing something? why should you dictate the way i want to play a game? the group of people that plays on these servers is so small that it couldnt possibly change dayZ overall. why can't you just let this small group of people play the game they want to play?

(just gonna make a blanket comment over everyone who's against my arguement because it seems like my opinion is the minority and to reply to all the people against it would take longer than time itself) i'm only trying to make the point that i don't think it's fair that people are having money taken off them for trying to make a safe zone for people who want to play like that. what's wrong with that? if your arguement is that it's breaching the terms of the server contract, then ask why is it in the contract? if people don't want to join a non-pvp server then it's not like they have to. to all the people saying it hinders the game - that is completely irrelevant because the people on these servers clearly want to play it like that and have just as much fun as everyone else. but even then, you people won't back down because this has become a flame war. i'll probably leave this topic now because no one is ever going to win this arguement, and i can't be arsed repeating my original statement which very few people have seemed to properly read.

none of that matters, clearly there are a few people who just want to play the game co-operatively. i thought you were supposed to be free to do what you want? these servers only get made because some people want to avoid the deathmatch that is dayZ, and when they try to do it on their own without harming anyone else, their server gets removed without refund? thats utterly shocking. it's an atrocity.

exactly. there's no rule against bloody PvP DEATHMATCH ONLY servers now is there? because they're totally realistic and clearly what the devs had in mind. honestly i love this game and the dev team behind it, but seriously this is bull. if they're gonna take money off people for having a unique kind of server and not give it back to them then they should do that with all the pvp servers too. but then everyone would get annoyed about that. i'm just sticking up for the small man here.

well it sounds like you were in cherno, which is a very active player area. you may have just been extremely unlucky, and you may have been attracting zombies, which would alert that player that you were on your way. either that or he was a hacker and needs a red hot poker inserted into all cavities

but getting lost is so much fun! who knows what you might find?!

why would i? what's the point in that? where's the goddamn exploration if you're reading a map

you shouldnt have needed to tell your friend what to do. just tell him 'the aim is to stay alive' and he would be fine, the game even says 'you are hungry'. as for spawning with friends, hell god damn no. clans would be absolutely everywhere and there'd be absolutely no chance of any interaction. however i do feel that having some servers add the feature and some servers without the feature will be cool. but then you run the risk of eventually having all servers with the feature because it's the more popular opinion. look at what happened with the mod. it started off as a survival game and over time almost every server was CHERNO DEATHMATCH SPAWN WITH AS50 AND DMR 5000 VEHICLES NO NIGHTTIME BETTER LOOT and by god i truly hope we don't end up with that again.

and teamspeak, and gamma at night, and all other exploits that ruin the game. people complain at a lack of realism and then use game-breaking exploits like looking at the map online lol
