so you should take more time when deciding what server to play on. if your friend is coming on in half an hour then go to a medium populated server. also, how long do you normally have to wait for a player to leave a 40-man server? like 2 minutes?

Spawn improvement idea (mainly for server hopping)

introduce a time limit. make it so you can only join one specific server every hour. introduce a penalty system. if a player changes servers more than 3 times in one hour they must wait a specified amount of time. make it so a player cannot log out in high grade loot areas. make it so they must walk to a field or something before logging back in. is that enough for you? -

yeah i agree here. unfortunately as well as massive success the youtubers also attracted lots of people who aren't in dayZ for the survival aspects, they just wanna deathmatch.

i don't see this happening as friends may have met up and had a server crash or something. this would mean they'd have to meet up again and would get breddy peeved. there's loads of other, much more basic ways to look at stopping server hopping. -

dayZ isnt meant to be 100% pvp. we don't want to play bloody deathmatch games! we want a different experience to all that boringness!

i'd say that PvE servers and Lone servers would be fun if surviving itself was far more difficult than it is now. if you actually needed to team up because zombies were so difficult to survive against i think it would be great.

a hardcore mode would be great! get all the people who want to play CoD on the casual mode with no zombies and 10000 vehicles and instant loot, get all the people who want to play dayZ on the hardcore mode :D works for everyone -
i think they will focus on optimization more in the early stages. however after they've put everything in they'll still be able to optimize the game. we just have to hope that they realize just how important it is that they optimize the hell out of the game! just imagine playing at glorious 60fps aah the stuff of dreams

you could just make it so you can only join a new server once every couple of hours or hour? that would certainly put people off. just put a warning when a person joins a server that says 'warning: you will not be able to join any other servers for an hour after joining.'

considering my FPS increased by about 10 when i turned shadows off, this guide needs more thought put into it. video memory should also be set to default if i'm not mistaken

the first few suggestions were good then suddenly 20 pretty silly and over the top requests :P also: More backpacks. Soldiers shouldn't be using bright hiking packs. Better animations. Why does my guy move and use weapons like someone who's had military experience. make up your mind :P -
oh man i'd love it if you properly looked into your backpack when opening it :D would be so cool for some reason

.... players yes. zombies no. if you are constantly moving a zombie can't hit you. if you hide in a bush the zombies will lose you. if you run through a building you will lose the zombies. they aren't hard. i've only ever legitimately died from zombies about three times. i've died from players hundreds of times. (anyone reading this without the previous comments i'm talking about the mod)

the standalone has more 'bandits' (inverted commas because i mean KoS'ers). nearly everyone is a bandit. what reason are people gonna play the game other than to kill each other if the zombies and survival remain this easy? you think there's less KoS now? you think zombies were a threat in the mod? they were legendary for being not threatening at all. people would not do 'anything to survive', they just wanted to kill each other because either they were bored or should be playing call of duty. you clearly didn't play the mod that much because zombies were not a threat in the slightest.

i'm yet to meet a randomer that didn't either shoot me on sight or betray me after i let them live. it just seems they don't exist :( hopefully with more difficult zombies and environment there will be more friendly / creative players, but i really doubt it. it's call of duty down at the coast and there's nothing going on up north.
