1. what is the point in playing dayZ if you're just gonna use an exploit to find your gear? 2. how is it fun to find a weapon or item by using an exploit? 3. you're effectively cheating, it's clearly not meant to be like that. 4. if you're gonna just server hop to find gear, why not play CoD or battlefield? or wasteland on arma 2? in all of those you spawn with a weapon and dont ruin the game for the rest of us there's 4 viable reasons that i can think of off the top of my head. honestly what on earth happened to this community? as soon as the standalone came out there was a massive influx of idiots on the forums

still not finding any experimental beta servers. i have my settings set to 'opt in' and i'm still just getting vanilla servers and my old character. anyone else having this issue or am i the unlucky one who doesnt get to play? -

do you count stupid people as everyone? please dont kos on these servers :( killing people is fine but you could at least work out if they are idiots who need to be killed or just people trying to get by :( there is hope for this small amount of servers to reduce the kos massively so we can all enjoy a bit of 'no kos' dayZ before it gets found by the masses and kos makes a grand return -

i'm really hoping that the community in these 5 experimental servers is only composed of people from these forums, then there might be some variance in gameplay and less KoS in them for a while :D -

i can't get onto the experimental thing. i've changed my settings and all that but when i launch dayZ it just comes up with my old character and all the normal servers. anyone know why this is habbening? -

i have a worse gaming laptop than that and it runs dayZ at like 20-30fps with everything on low. you should be ok, as long as you can put up with occasional bad frames. near the big tall buildings at cherno it starts to struggle a bit, but other than that it's fine really.

yeah but then it becomes boring because people get all serious and pretend they're in the army and act all tough. disorganisation at this level is just more fun

Why aren't this type of server allowed? I'm not a massive fan of them, but why are the devs against it? surely people can play however they want? don't you think it's unfair that just because it's not the popular opinion that they aren't allowed? people can have their server removed WITHOUT REFUND? that's ridiculous. if there's no legitimate reason then why not? inb4 they shouldnt be allowed because being a carebear is wrong, jesus just let them be. if they're on their own then surely they're not harming anyone else.

unfortunately at the moment it will be very difficult to get any form of roleplay. it will be rare even on this server to find people that actually want to do roleplay, as most people will just see a populated server to have some deathmatch at balota 'fun'. please let me know when/ you have a server when private hives are around. i would love to join.

no one goes north because literally 99% of the community are people who want to deathmatch at balota. the rest are people who go north but they're so rare it's like a bloody bigfoot sighting

hello there, i personally think that the most fun time for a player in the game is when they're just starting. play for yourself and explore for yourself. this is a survival game after all. as for your hud, i have no idea what you mean, there is effectively no HUD in this game :P what gameplay mechanics are you wanting to figure out? and what do you mean by 'game doesnt stretch'? do you mean it doesnt fit your screen? if so then you should adjust the resolution to your screen's size. then it should be fine.

i definitely prefer this to the current system, however i really don't see why we can't have spawns all around the edge of the map. it would bring a different type of game each time as there could be upwards of 100 different spawn points. obviously loads of people would hate this because they won't be able to meet up with friends, but we could just put it in the hardcore mode maybe? this hardcore mode idea is gonna have a massive impact on the game methinks. it will put a huge divide between people who want to clan war and people who want to play survival games.

you should wait for private hives before trying to enforce these rules. it's pretty crappy but you might even end up with a banned server and no refunds.

arma 2 was horribly optimised, and the fact that dayZ is built off the same engine and is still in alpha only makes the performance worse. -

if you're gonna buy it just to save money now, i would advise waiting for steam sales and such. if not you're only losing small amounts of money, when you could get lucky and have DayZ be in steam summer sale for 75% off :-DDD -
