try mods that dont change the map, but mods like 2017 or redux that limit loot spawns massively. playing on 2017 earlier and went through 3 supermarkets and found one can of food, and no drink. that is hardcore shit right there. and the KoS is reduced massively because survival is so difficult. with such a lack of ammo the zombies are a real threat.

i'm against the idea of big, military guns, but having a big zed/boss style zed would certainly spice things up. make people work together more aswell. and i'm all for the promotion of positive player interaction. at the moment it seems the easiest and most simple way of playing dayZ is to just kill everyone you see. if there were the risk of a huge boss attack, players might think twice before blowing each other away, and think, 'this guy could help me, so no need to shoot on sight'. at the moment the game is about PVP because the zombies are not a threat at all. the game should be players vs zombies with the added risk of a player being an asshole, not shoot everyone you see because 95% if the time they are an asshole who's just gonna shoot you. you become the asshole. dang, i've got a serious case of verbal diarrhea.

i think in the current state of the mod, the levelling for bandits needs to be alot lower. most bandits i know already have like -100k humanity, and it would just encourage people to be assholes as it would make banditry even easier. also, what's the point in being able to take off the bullet proof vest and the headscarf? surely all bandits would just take off their headscarves so people wouldn't know they were bandits? and why on earth would a hero take off his bullet proof vest? other than that, i like the idea of perks and advantages for being a good guy. personally i dont think there should be any of these for being a bandit as they get all the gear and loot from those that they kill.

personally what i want in the standalone is a HUGE reduction in the amount of weapons that are lying around. if weapons like AK-47's and the like were as rare as AS50's are now, and military grade weapons were much, much rarer, it would make the game feel alot more like a personal story because each life would be so different. and seeing a guy with an AK-47 would make you crap your pants, instead of getting sniped by some guy a kilometer away with an M107 and ghillie suit. basically i want the game to feel alot less like a military shooter and more like a survival horror. obviously with the ARMA 2 engine that is no easy task but that's really what i want to see.

obviously anything would be an improvement on the small red mark and the blood animation that currently looks like a water fountain, so i guess they will add more 'gore' to an extent, like better bullet hit animations, maybe some blood splatter, hopefully people's clothes will stain red if they are shot. that would be so cool. they could wash their clothes to get it off! would be awesome. so yes, i hope there will be more gore, and believe that there will be. nothing too extreme like arms and legs flying about though. although losing a limb and surviving could be another interesting game mechanic :P

imo the arma 3 gun holding animations are way too military for dayZ. dayZ isnt about people that have trained in the armed forces and know exactly how to handle a gun, it's about people trying to survive. however i'm all for more fluid and realistic animations.

It's MUCH too difficult to get the hero skin. getting it is one thing, but then maintaining it for any amount of time? thats insane. it should be more like -500 humanity for a kill, and hero skin appears at 3k humanity. it's no wonder there are so few heroes, it's almost an impossible task.

i would bloody love to be able to wear a suit. one of the things im really hoping for in the standalone is a full wearable suit :D look so badass! i think just in general the ability to change the way my character looks is a big selling point for me. i'm not a huge fan of the lack of skins in the current mod.

dang tasers are a great addition to the game, i really hope they add more variety to the fighting in the standalone! things like darts, rope etc would be so much fun and variety is always a good thing in a dayZ style game!

i think the idea behind it was that it would help stop the kill-on-sight mentality, which i am all for. i think it could work. the gripe i have with the arma 3 overhaul is that the character runs about like they've spent 10 years training in the military. i prefer it in arma 2 where they casually hold the gun, not like some SAS soldier. these are just normal people, trying to survive, not militants.

personally i think the perfect endgame would be a fully functional trading town, where people know they are safe from bandits and zombies. though i doubt this would ever happen as it would need alot of player co-operation, that's the kind of endgame i want to see. one that is fully player-built and makes people co-operate.

it looks like it's most likely something to do with your temperature. i had the same problem (on my laptop) and bought a cooling mat, and the problem was gone! best of luck, these things are frustrating

no idea why the world and his dog are so fucking obsessed with the walking dead series. i cant even watch them without getting desperately bored about the truly awful characters, boring storylines, bland dialogue and constant over-dramatisation. also, it's a fucking zombie programme. where are the fucking zombies? apologies to the OP as this is hardly on topic :P
