whoop de doo. it makes no difference. it's still a one hit kill. anyway that's entirely irrelevant, my point was that why would he get rid of the AS50 (an overpowered sniper) and keep the DMR, (an overpowered sniper) the M107 (an overpowered sniper) and the M24, (another overpowered sniper! wow!). it makes no sense to get rid of one when the others are just as overpowered. get rid of 'em all.

if that's your view, then why not keep the AS50? oh and yes it may be intense to think that there could be anyone anywhere, but then what if you actually get killed by some asshole on a hill 1km away? you dont even hear the shot before you're dead. yes it would be cool the first time it happened, but it would become much more common, and would happen all the time. thats no fun at all.

bloody hell you are in love with that gun lol although i completely agree that m4's etc should be really rare and AS50's shouldnt be in the standalone at all. i think the best possible weapon should be the CZ550 or other low-grade snipers. it would be a much better game without ghillie snipers on a hill 1km away killing you when you have an AK-74. close range shootouts are always so much more intense.

also dont overclock, theres absolutely no point, especially with the size of your CPU.

for me, patience seems to be the best tactic into defeating someone in dayZ. you watch them from afar and wait for the opportune moment :D THEN YOU NAIL HIS BANDIT ASS

i completely agree with the OP. and although dayZ has become rife with cod-kiddies, there are alternatives. dayZ 2017 is really excellent in the survival aspect, zombies hit harder and food and weapons are extremely rare. the best weapon you can get is an AK-47, and about half of the players i've met are friendly. for me it's the perfect balance. i really hope they take a few tips from 2017 in the SA and for one thing i hope they remove the ridiculous military sniper rifles that people can sit on a hill with a ghillie suit 1.5km away and snipe you with. they ruin the game for me really. in regards to op, i dont understand why this topic gets so much hate, the general consensus on these forums is that 'you do what you want because it's dayZ' doesnt really seem right to me, because i can kill everyone i see in EVERY OTHER GAME. dayZ was supposed to be different, but it's become just another military shooter.

i am all for anything that builds comraderie among players. that's what i started playing for. though i have found it very rarely, the amount of KoS is just silly atm. and to add to your point about how online gaming has developed badly over the years, i couldnt agree more. in all honesty, i believe it is games like CoD and Halo that have caused this, because they brought gaming to the immature, younger generation who constantly need to boost their ego's by trash talking etc. Its a shame to see dayZ become what it has become, and i can only hope that LoL and Hon players all stay the fuck away. the absolute worst communites out there.

yeah, since the game got so much press all the cod kiddies flocked and now there's really no sense of comradery at all. its just banditry everywhere. i really hope that the standalone ends this crap because as fun as the PVP element is, i am so fucking bored of having to shoot people on sight just because i KNOW that they will do the same to me.

lord god no. theres enough deathmatching down there already. give us more reasons to go up north, put it up there somewhere. near NEAF perhaps? tbh i dont care where you put it, as long as its nowhere near cherno or elektro. the more incentive to go up north the better. and im not talkign about AS50 snipers at NW. please just get rid of those military snipers. they ruin the atmosphere and the sense of tension. imo the only sniper should be a CZ550, all the other ones just give you the opportunity to hide on a hill 500 metres away in a ghillie suit, where the other guy has no idea you're there, and has absolutely no chance. if players have mainly low-grade weapons then action will be so more intense. i wanna shit bricks when i see someone with an AK when i've only got a revolver. please take some advice from dayZ 2017, that mod has it almost nailed.

the reason people get so annoyed is because we get some butthurt guy like you coming along all the time, and it can get tiresome trying to explain to them why they're wrong. you clearly like the mod and are very excited for the game, hence why you are posting on the forums. wouldnt you want the game to be as good as possible before you get it? or do you really want some rushed 'dayz: modern warfare 6' coming out every year or something like that? the fact that they are taking a while is a GOOD sign. they are clearly taking alot of care with it as they want it to be good. you just need to do something else until it's released, not waste your life waiting. play dark souls, that's an awesome game :P just dont bother whinging about it, because that doesnt help anyone. :)

you make it sound like it is the socially accepted thing to be an asshole to all other players. you could be part of the 1%. instead you are just another boring bandit.

it's a great mod. i hugely prefer it to vanilla dayZ as it actually feels like a battle to survive. you're constantly fighting for your life, not looking for people to shoot. players are more friendly for this reason, and there is alot less KoS.

correct me if i'm wrong but i think the shots to kill are in relation to a zombie kill, not a player kill. maybe make this clearer OP?
