why do you think it's such a weird idea? dont you think it would benefit the game and make it into less of a 'shooter'?

i think this is the reason that people KoS so much in dayZ. there's really not that much to do after getting all the best gear etc. unless you're really creative and have some cool goal or idea you've set yourself, the done thing when you get to that point is to simply hunt people down. standalone will hopefully fix this by giving us loads and loads of tools to create our own scenarios and make our own creative individual goals :D (sorry for being slightly off topic)

if you're thinking of buying an alienware then don't, they are massively overpriced and you can get a system much much cheaper buying elsewhere or building it yourself. (its very easy)

this could work. and it would also increase player interaction and decrease the KoS. however i dont think the disadvantages should be worse aiming etc but more that you're unable to communicate with other players. being a total psycho could stop you from doing gestures at other players? or your guy could scream and laugh when he's in combat or near a player, letting them know that he is definitely not friendly. i really like the idea of mental stability factoring in to a sort of 'humanity' system.

it would take so long to walk to another town if the players were any slower. also, a normal person can't run for 15km without stopping, but you can do that in arma aswell. but how boring would it be if you had to stop running every 10 minutes because your character is tired?

yeah if you listened they said that that is a bug which they will fix, unfortunately it came up right at e3 and they werent able to fix it in time

this has been talked about many times. have you seen footage of the standalone? they run at a more normal pace and attacks are much more fluid. also, zombies working well and being much more functional is something they're working very hard on for the standalone. look up E3 gameplay and you'll see that they look a hell of alot better. also, you are able to completely rid an area of zombies in the standalone. they stop spawning when a player is in the area. this means you can rid a town of zombies and barricade it off from roaming swarms of zombies! :D

utterly missed the point. it's not an arcade shooter, where the goal is simply to kill people. it's completely different to that, you can go around finding the loot in a town and then go looking for people to kill them, but don't you find that dull and repetitive? think of all the possibilities if you were to simply shout to someone in the building opposite and say 'i need a bandage' or whatever. literally anything could happen. they could try to rob you, you could try to rob them, they could be in need of help from infection, or be very low on heath themselves. they could want to team up, they could be a nasty gang preying on hapless victims, they could be a good gang helping everyone they can. you could team up with the person and rid the town of zombies and barricade it from any more. that's why i dont like KoS. it is so dull. 'yay lets shoot each other, something i can do in a million other games! let's not do the things that only this game offers and is the reason why it's so popular!'.just like the OP, you're gonna have to come to terms with the fact that you might actually need the help of strangers and maybe NOT have to kill them. surviving the environment is going to be alot harder in the standalone. don't know why i'm arguing with you though, you're still just gonna kill everyone you see so you can put it on your super successful youtube channel

been said a million times before, it's one of the things they're working hardest on for the standalone. if you want good zombies go play killing floor or left 4 dead :D

damn this is a great idea. it would really reduce the KoS aswell because people would need to stick together. however it might take it too far and make it too difficult to be a bandit. it's such a balancing act that it's difficult to say if it would implement well or not, but i really like the idea.

oh god kill it with fire. one of the main aims of the standalone is to increase player interaction. this isn't fucking call of duty. please stay on the mod and don't buy the standalone. edit: the amount of beans this post got has really rekindled my faith in the community, it seems there are many people who are against KoS.

you could try a different server, i have the same problem on some servers and i'm sure some other people do. some servers are poorly hosted and this means that after a while you get inevitable lag. also it could be that your computer is getting hot from all the usage, do the fans get unusually loud? the first thing i would try is another server or two.

use dayZcommander, go into settings, then 'launch using steam' and 'replace files with beta so dayZ works'. then run it through commander. then you'll be able to play it through steam :)

as against KoS as i am, the standalone will have enough features to keep people occupied and to not shoot each other. they're trying their best so that people interact with each other as much as possible, whether that be positive (helping people) neutral (trading items) or negative (a conflict of some form). i'm really hoping that this will eliminate most KoS however there will always be cod kiddies around to ruin things and just kill everyone they see on sight because they are #MLGPR0SCOPEZZZZ, but i don't really mind too much as long as it's not like the mod where 95% of people will shoot anyone they see. any reduction from that is an improvement imo.

check your pc's heat with CPUID or something like that. then tell me the temperatures here. i had a similar problem and it was due to heat.

well if he's a hero and shot you on sight he probably just got the skin by being an admin/friends with the admin, so no i wouldn't say it's banditry. it's sweet justice if anything. he shot you first, you got him back, it's only fair that you steal all his stuff lol

the walking dead isnt the reason for the surge in zombie games. the fact that zombie games are fun is to blame. inb4 walking dead is a masterpiece of modern storytelling IT ISNT.

dayZ 2017 is so good, weapons are rare and ammo is even rarer. the best weapons you'll find are like moisin-nagants lol
