  1. Server still "unknown". I know that one unsatisfied customer gone (me) is not tragic. But i hope you will complain hard with your provider, because they expose you to things like this. One week for fixing and resetting a server (last time it worked was last monday) in 2012 is laughable. I bet you know that, so say them godbye, for the happiness of your future european customers! They deserve it a lot. P.S. I dont want to cry out loud or ask for refunds. I know shit happens. But i did not recieve anything that say you are aware that i cancel my services, despite i filled the form in your official site. I already stopped paypal payment, so i would like to know if i made evrything's right and if it's fine enough. Thnx in advance and good work for the future.
  2. @Maxxgold: Are you sure you check the last option bottom left of the cancellation request? I just made mine, and i notice this red icon asking if you want to cancel subscription immediately or after the month expires. I guess is "immediately" by default, so this could be your problem. P.S. I wish i can tell you if my server is still running ( i piked up the "at the end of the month" option) but status is still unknown due to the hard disk failure happened last tuesday, i'll check tomorrow.
  3. No need to always point out the compensation thing like is the only thing in the wolrd that really counts. It happen to be that i like to play and 5 dollars does not change my world. So i can trade my compensation till now plus a fee just to have my server working to play and have fun during the week-end after a week of work. Mine was not a complain. Just a request of a possible ETA since you never give a clue about it. I hope you get it, because the attitude of your answer is more close to be rude than kind or polite. I know you could be under pressure, but throwing at me some bucks will not shut my mouth up.
  4. Meanwhile... Day 4 of status "unknown" on my server... Pls guys save my weekend!
  5. What can i say? What can i do? Nothing. Shit happens, and the fan it fell into is at full speed, aiming my direction. Aknowledged. Tomorrow is another day.
  6. Ok. I'm not the kind of guy that praise or whine, but i keep getting ignored both here and on the support ticket. I keep recieving info like "your GMT issue is fixed!" "DayZtools work now for your server!" and so on... But my server status is "unknown" since 3 days ago. All i get was a mail telling about a "hard disk failure" on the machine that host my server, followed by "we will solve this immediately". Now, i probably miss the meaning of "immediately" but i hope that 4 days will be enough for you to solve the problem.
  7. My timezone did not work since a week ago. More, actually i get status "unknown" from my TCAdmin panel. Of course, i'm not able to enter in my server.
  8. Yesterday i was roaming with 2 mates looking for a vehicle. We neded 1 wheel and 1 engine part to make it run. Was not hard at all. It was enough to have some room in the backpack and the job was done. Sooooo..i was thinking...Engine parts in a backpack? Nay! It will be fine if Dayz implement some kind of "mule" action for the heavier, more encumbering things. To transport things like Rotors, engine parts and so on..one member should REMOVE HIS PRIMARY WEAPON and bring the item on HIS HANDS! More, he CANNOT RUN with such items in the hands. So you are slow, unarmed, and need a great teamplay to bring that pieces home. And let's be honest, it sounds more realistic than simply put a Rotor in your backpack, isn't it? No matter how you are experienced and/or well armed: you feel again that sense of fear and impotence, that makes DAYZ so cool. Of course, if you want to run, or shoot with a weapon, you have to drop the item you are carrying. What do you think about it? Sounds fun and challenging, or just too hard?
  9. I experienced some issues before upgrading to 3.6. I followed steps on how to install it and everything's fine now. But i did not mess with Rmod or DB. I'm scared it's just too hard and brings lot's of troubles. So untill actual "standard" config keep working like a charm, i guess i stay put.
  10. I keep getting massive "502 bad gateway" error on pretty everything...from dayz toolz, to php admin. And 4 hours ago someone messed up with my (password locked) hive teleporting and killing both online and offline players. Someone hlp me pls... :(

    Too Many Loots?

After a couple of days of total fear and excitement, things (expecially in less populated servers) are waaaay too easy! Actually i have: AK74 kobra + 5 clips of ammo. 1911 + 4 clips of ammo. 2 bandages. 2 painkillers 2 morphine 1 antibiotics i still have 16 on my czech pack, that i use to store: 2 smoke grenade 5 drinks 5 food and still have room for 4 items. And when i will find the biggest pack, other 8 slots. So your inventory has LOADS of rooms to make you feel like you can start a war alone. In addiction, each server has a fixed amount of loot made to feed, arm and equip 50 players average. that's way i would like that the quantity and quality of spawns will be bound to the number of players on the server. And things always get easier after the first days: hunting knife, matches (and now to eat is no more even a nuisance), better armed, with a veichle, and a couple of friends it become like a safari. I know there are many way to solve that, like put a cap on inventory for same items like food (2-3), ammo (till 6), drinks and such. Or making "classes" with bonuses and penalties on the amount of things they can store or use. Dunno really. But i would like that the struggle for keep breathing should be in some way much more difficult (as the starting hours) than it is actually. Thoughts?

    Too Many Loots?

Exacltly my point. In the end, this is an alpha, so it has some issues. But nothing to complain. Just to point out some of them hoping devs will find the key to solve matters. low populated server= too easy Much populated server= too many hachers ruining everything. As you wisely suggested, i took a private hive for myself, and i'm about to play with "fake rules": never take more than 3 food, 3 drinks and 6 magazine of ammo, and other fake rules like this. More, i gave my friends (hope they will join me in the hive) abilities: only one can repair veichles (engineer), only one can use sniper weapons (soldier), only one can store advanced medicals (medic) and so on. Of course, no duping, or DRM weapons (magazine bug) no nv goggles or thermal, and so on. Hard to play "Role Playing Game" style, but it's the one that fulfill at best my enjoiment in Dayz! ;)
  13. Just bought a private hive (frankfurt). Hope everything goes more than smooth, because is my first server rent ever. ;) EDIT: installed smooth and softly we are already playing! Cannot wait to see next Dayztool improvement! P.S. Had some issue with veichle spawn location and status, still not working properly, but not sure if it's my fault or something's missing.

    Clothing, Apparel

Apart from the OP topic. This "realistic" vs "unrealistic" is a bit illogical. A zombie apocalypse is unrealistic for sure. But this does not mean that your char (a man) can fly with angel wings just because "a zombie apocalypse is unrealistic so don't bother with real stuff". I hardly believe that people are not able to realize what should be realistic and what not in a game like this... About ghillies: in my opinion they are fine, but should be very rare, and (confirmed for standalone) deteriorable.

    Advanced basebuilding (levels)

Idea is fine. Having a good base could be an amazing achievement, but, in simple words, should be a "dayz camp"! Incredibly though (many people bound in some way to the camp must work togheter) , difficult (raw material to find) and expensive to build (a lot of rare raw materials needed), as well as to mantain (with raw materials on weekly basis) it, and in any case it does not last forever (deteriorates quickly to dust if maintenance and requirements are not fulfilled weekly or if abandoned or not enough survivors can manage it). P.S. Get rid of the dog (and defence system in general): one "defense" bite to a zombie and it should get infected, attacking survivors (sounds more like a trap than a defense tool). The only defence of a survivors is himself.
  16. Disclaimer: Since i'm playing DayZ every second of my free-time since i entered last week-end, my thoughts could be fuzzy and confused. :) I'm not aiming at some particular gear with this suggestion. Just everything. That's to avoid that "finally i'm ok with it" feeling that imho should not be in Dayz. In DayZ nothing should be confortable or secure. Better something like: "Finally, i'm ok...for now" Examples: Maps: made of paper, used lots of time each day. Paper deteriorate so map should broke sooner or later. Hunting Knife: the more you use it, the more it lose sharpness untill unusable. Night Vision Googles: cannot last forever, batteries can end, as well as they could broke if you get hit in the face by a zombie. Weapons: God only knows how much a weapon need maintenance to works properly, so after used it many times, it should jam or became unusable (sileneced weapons should be even more fragile). Clothes: Do they last forever? in such environment? And so on. There are plenty of loot spawns around, so it will force player to keep scavenging no matter what they get till now. Share your thoughts.
  17. Dayz is revolutionary. When a friend of mine introduced me to this game, he told me "Do you remember Ultima Underworld"? So we had to run so deep in the past of PC games to find such an interactive, immersive, addicting game where your only aim is live the moment: no grind, no farming, no levels, no skills to power up. Despite all of this, after 6 hours of game all i feel was complaining: how can a game be so harsh? Disarmed, constantly killed by zombies or bandits; all i did was runnin, flee and die. I'm quite sturdy, so i keep playing far beyond frustration, ad i finally get the gift: surviving is the most rewarding and exciting thing EVER! And i just realized that this Mod is really revolutionary. Now, the creator of this mod, needs to be brave behind any logic, and keep his battle to mantain the game core as it is! Actually the game is a free aplha stage mod: no customers mean no massive complains, no refund carebears, no moaking on gameplay. Then they will get customers, it will start "balance this" "balance that" "is too difficult" "give me a weapon at start" and so on. NO WAY! Keep the point! Till the end! Build a wall around the concept and make it survive all the attacks that will come as the game will have to deal with the commercial rules. What makes Dayz so great is the "survival in hell" factor. This game should never be easier than that, no way to buy weapons with gold, or super armor or shit like this. Make your point, man. Show Balls. That's the only way to achieve greatness. Good luck, and thank for making all PC users happy and proud to hold the fort from all those consoles and their stupid conversions. Grateful for the rest of my life. Gualtiero Bemporad.
