No...alpha is when u add lots of broken stuff to the game, nothing is supposed to be done...beta is when stop adding code and u fix it all. Secondly none of that matters...there is no industry standard/rule set that dictates how someone should develop their game. There can also be different reasons why something isnt fixed at a certain point in time...if u add one part of a system, there is no point in fixing it before the whole system is in place. U try to avoid fixing it twice. Stop making dramaqueen posts, use ur commonsense and relax like real men do.

If we dont get a proper penalty for carrying full packs sometime in the future I will encourage all devs to wear a 30 kg pack for one hour while running...

LOL the bad press argument is really silly...pls stop it really....having cannibalism is going to attract lots of players to dayz. There are quite a few of us that are fed up with games for kids...and that includes CoD and all the rest of it. Cannibalism in a game isnt new...BUT, it also depends on how u present it. The realistic gameplay of Dayz probaly will probaly accentuate the whole idea of it, but that will work in our favour since players most likely wont do it for fun.
-
I dont get it...how do u grief someone with cannibalism if its a intended feature of the game?
-
 :beans:

I think they should focus on developing and adding realistic gamemechanics that tie in togheter...adding pooping or an ability to use restrooms isnt gonna affect gameplay to much extent. The ability to make a fire ties in with weather, rain, coldness, drying ur clothes, making food etc...pooping, is just pooping for 20 seconds
-
Agree 100%...the more u resort to cannibalism the more dependent on human flesh u get. Dont feel its a realistic gamemechanic, but we need something in place to prevent players from doing cannibalism just for fun. Because thats even more unrealistic.
-
Ive seem a couple comments on the forum where ppl express concern about cannibalism because it makes them scared, gives them a negative feeling...and honestly if u feel anything like this I dont think u should play a game like Dayz or any equally violent game for that matter. If u have rational arguments against it...by all means share them. But if ur worried or scared...do urself a favour and stop playing because u shouldnt play violent game at all. Im not scared or worried about cannibalism, I wouldnt get a iffy feeling if someone ate my body in Dayz. My emotional reaction would probaly be laughing if someone ate me in Dayz, because I know its a game. And if someone wants to call me mad because of that it only shows that they have problems with differentiating between reality and a game. I have no problem in seperating game from reality, and thats why I dont have serious emotional reactions to something that happends in a game.
-
Its really simple...dont like it, dont eat ppl...
-
Or we could give the zombies the ability to pluck out our eyeballs with their sharp zombie nails..

Couldnt agree with u more...but some ppl also complain about food being to scarce. I have no idea if this is based on one time experience or something they experienced consistently....I cannot relate to it in any way. For me personally I would welcome a 50% reduction in food found in cities. Wildlife should stay the same. If food in cities/towns is going be as abundant as it is now I will never have any need for hunting wildlife/fishing etc LOL wait a minute...just notice this is in Dayz mod, disregard what I said

I'm old and I suck at it so I play on empty servers.
svisketyggeren replied to Butifnot's topic in General Discussion
I suck too man..its okey, the other day I was hidden in a bush scouting with binoculars over a large field thinking "I dont wanna die now so im taking precautions"...suddenly a player is like 20 meter from me...I almost panic, draw my compass instead of the weapon...I then manage to draw the weapon and spray a full ak mag on the guy when hes about 10 meter away, thats 30 bullets...oh hes not dead, almost shaking I draw my compass again instead of changing the mag...in the end after 40 bullets or so the guy is dead and I had a mini heartattack Player encounters are so rare for me that I will never get used to them ;) -
Yes I understand what u mean now....I assumed u meant items that already fit the backpack...or the relevant inventory....since u where showing the shotgun.
-
Yes there are lots of things I dont understand...but if u do understand the point in rotating items in the inventory pls tell me. There is a reason why the backpacks are arranged the way they are...
-
The items would just be arranged different in ur inventory...u wont fit more items.
-
Dont quite understand the point of rotating the items..?

The future mod of Dayz SA that will become the new SA
svisketyggeren posted a topic in General Discussion
What would it be about if u where to make a mod of SA? I personally would like to see a mod based on realism 100%, thats hardcore and unforgiving. If u die...no new char until next day. -
The future mod of Dayz SA that will become the new SA
svisketyggeren replied to svisketyggeren's topic in General Discussion
It wouldnt be quite the same situation, as Warz was a standalone game with no other alternatives/modding capabilities (?)...im talking about a mod with this gamemechanism in it. It is pretty clear to me that there are those that opposite this cooldown after death, maybe even a large majority of Dayz players dont want that. So maybe this isnt something we need in Dayz SA...but as a gamemechanism for a mod I think its something radical different from what we are used too...which again will probaly change drastically how we played a mod with cooldown after death. -
OP was making a direct comparison to real life...OP said I have to eat more than in real life. So yes it does matter in that context OP descibed. What ur saying is a slightly different but related matter...is there to much or to litte food. If u ask me Id say there is to much...getting food is zero challenge for me atm, not dying from hunger is also zero challenge for me. So why its so hard for some, and totally the opposite for some...I dunno..
-
Dayz is a game, every aspect of it isnt 100% modelled after real life

Obviously OP has drunk alot of rasputin kvass and peed enough to make a small lake -
If we are going to have big guns there needs to be a downside to having them too. Big guns and all the other stuff we carry need to slow u down...no sprinting with a big machinegun in ur hands and a big full backpack. RPD machinegun weighs almost 8 kg...it would be silly if it didnt contribute significantly to slowing u down, compared to a pistol...also the energi expenditure should be much higher too.
-
I believe u have to do alot of waiting...
-
I never search for chopper sites....probaly because the forests areas in the west are so boring to travel around. The forest need more fluff...the graphics is just too boring atm. Some other parts of the map are beginning to look decent though. But really not worth spending time in the boring forests of the west if u already have some kind of AK weapon.

Using a external map is cheating...serverhopping is cheating too. Anyways...I dont use a online map and seldom use the ingame map...they insult my awsome pathfinding abilities
