A prerequisite for downloading Dayzmod should have been 100 hours logged gametime in Arma...that way we would effectively screen out the COD kids... Arma would be sorta like a bootcamp for Dayz

Where exactly did u get the information that flares will not be common in the standalone?? Common in that same degree as in the mod I mean. No, if u wanna treat urself with eternal disney bambi style...u log on to that happy place with 24/7 daylight, selfbloodbag, 3rd person, custom loadout, 5000 cars and helicopters and a personal asian dude to play ur character when u feel tired in ur fingers because there is no autorun. If u have big manballs u play on hardcore servers with very low bambi population

Nighttime brings a new tactical element into the game...do u light up a whole town with flares and go for a quick lootrun...but risk being spottet easly...or do u go for a more subtle approach with a lightstick up ur ass, easly detectable too...but not as easy as the flares. Or just black death ninja crouching tiger style and maybe take out the guy with the lightstick up his ass? If u want eternal bambi style, go play 24/7 daytime...its that simple.

Hear ye hear ye...the lack of hadcore servers is annoying and restricts my gametime too. Finding a server with 1st person only and no f..king crosshair is hopeless. Im pretty sure most serveradmins enable 3rd person because they wanna cater to everyones playstyle...thinking they can get the 1st person and 3rd person players by having both. From the polls its pretty obvious that the majority dosent want this. I suspect that things would have been different if admins only could choose between 1st and 3rd....and not have the option to choose having both. As of now a server with both 1st and 3rd is perceived (from a admins standpoint of view) as a better choice than 1st only server.

No god damn 3rd person, crosshair, only daytime, custom shitloadout or self bloodbag because im pussy twelve year old...then ill play

Let there be seperate 1st person and 3rd person servers, arguing/discussing what u guys and girls prefer is just futile...maybe 1% is converted from 1st to 3rd and 1% is converted from 1st to 3rd from this thread, just pointless.

If that poll is representative for the community its really weird how 80-90% of the dayz servers have 3rd person enabled... My guess is that alot of players voting 1st person really doesnt mind playing on a 3rd person server because they either use 3rd sometimes or havent really thought about the huge advantage 3rd person players have over 1st.

Although I agree with Dslyecxi, he didnt bring anything new to the 1st vs 3rd discussion...and really, is it really a discussion? I dont think so, some want 3rd person, some want 1st person. I myself play only 1st and do not want to be forced to play on 3rd person servers! And I think thats the most important point...we need to have the option to choose, cos in the dayz mod now its very hard to find a decent 1st person server for the type of mod u wanna play, let alone actually finding a 1st person server. Every time this is brought up on the forum I see alot of 1st person advocates...so why the majority of servers are 3rd person is hard to understand. Maybe most have given up and just accepted that they have to be forced to play on 3rd person servers. We need seperate 3rd and 1st person servers for the standalone...there is no balancing or tweaking, just full segregation

about weather...ever noticed how 50%ish of the servers runs 24hour daytime, and about 50% of the servers with nighttime have only full moon nights. My guess is that the carebears making up the majority of the dayz community only wants bright daylight and couldnt care less about any other weather making the game to hard or scary for them...

The problem with ur suggestion...for me atleast, is that players using 3rd person can basically look through walls...they can lay down behind a obstancle and have a invis periscope to scan the enviroment. Its just silly if u ask me...why the f... do ppl wanna play like this? And secondly, its just to big of an advantage for 3rd person players over 1st person players....any tactical warfare in rural areas is ruined. I only play 1st person and prefer no crosshair too...most maps dont even have servers with ch:off and 3rd:off. This is the main reason I dont play dayz regularly atm...ppl just want easy mode, and I have no problem with that...but when all servers are easy mode care bear COD crap...im out. Selfbloodbag...lol...grow a pair of manballs dayzplayers! and for f...s sake, the head bobbing can be turned off in options!

stop running around like COD kid...dont cross a huge open area without least scouting out the area with binoculars...if u need a whole mag to kill someone u need some target practise, one headshot is all that it takes, dont make unecessary sound removing sniperweapons just because u suck at the game....no I dont think so
