OP, buy a map of ur local wilderness...pack ur rucksack with a tent, sleepingbag, food + other survival items...stay the night out, use the map...by the time ur back u have become a man with a nice hairy ballsack between ur skinny teen legs.

I tell u man...if gamers could build robots to play their games so they could win some more...they would. Very few gamers enjoy a challenge...they just need the cheap sensation of winning in a game. In relation to dayz...nighttime is just to hard and scary.

It would be great with a working compass with map. But they need to rework the compass if that is going to work. If anyone havent noticed yet the compass in dayz isnt pointing straight forward...its slightly to the left if I remember correct. So u have the compass needle pointing straight but the charcter is holding the compass wrong. U would end off course if u held the compass like that. Whoever created the compass in dayz never used one...thats for sure. And to make the compass with map to have a meaning u also would have to remove our ability to walk in a straight line. Its the whole point of using a compass with a map...take out a course with the compass and then get to the nearest point of interest. If u can walk in a 100% straight line there is no need to use the compass to make sure u move in a straight line through the landscape.

Is there are particular good reason why most servers restart every 2-4 hours? Asking because I found a server that restarted ever 12 hours...which effectively made the whole suvival aspect of dayz meaningful again. I actually had to look hard for food...and not just carefree reach out my hand and grab a can of beans cos they are everywhere on most servers.

Ah ok...it just said 12 hour restart in the server description. Maybe it was a coincident that food was scarce during my playsession.
