It puts new players at a disadvantage versus those who haven't died pre-patch and still have their stuff. Also, since the zombie radar is broken for the umpteenth time, trying to stealth around in to towns to find something to equip isn't remotely easy. The solution (to me) would be to give players a melee weapon at the very least. This way, they have a fighting chance against any zeds that decide to mob the player.

It'd be nice to stick to a schedule for updates (once a week or something) but I respect Rocket's development cycle which is HOLY SHIT I BROKE FUCK IT! RELEASE THE KRAKEN! The biggest bitch for me is that the update servers seem to get hammered and the servers are slow to update once a point release comes out, but oh well. The only thing on my Christmas list is a weapon to start out with at spawn.

I'm also stuck.. any suggestions?

Dear Rocket, My wife is yelling at me while we play that she can't see shit at night. Any thoughts on the gamma/darkness at the moment? Is it working as intended or do you see some improvement to be made with visibility at night? Same problem here. I'm stuck on Retrying to Authenticate 99% of the time and I'm unable to play. Anyone here know of a workaround or anything I can do to make my client actually connect?

I was playing for hours earlier in the day. Once it got to about 5pm Eastern' date=' I was unable to get past "waiting for response from server"...I would wager something is overloaded, probably the main server which communicates with all the satelites, due to East coast US all starting to logon. Just doing something else during this time until it is addressed by the admins. [/quote'] It's sort of a pain in my ass cause I can never play during the day, only at night when the servers in the US go dark. I'm scared of the dark, so hold me.

How many others are suffering from this problem? I see tons of full servers but nobody is able to actually play in-game. Either I get stuck on 'Waiting for server response' or 'Retrieving Data' during login. Is there some kind of technical issue causing this behind the scenes of DayZ or is there anything I can do on my end to help alleviate this problem? Thanks
