  1. I hate to say this, as I am sure im going to take tons of shit for it but, here goes. I have 3 kids, love em to death, but yep, you know whats coming next. I want a great sim like this "That doesnt have those little bastards playing". Take no offense if your a "youngen", but it would be nice to have a game, that just the older people play. Ok, troll away on me... :) oh, snipers!!! no big deal. Learn your cover, play like its real and your more than fine.
  2. I have found plenty of DMR's and Fals. Tons of ammo and a few odds and ends. But never NVG's. Unfortunatly, every server I have been on has tents full of gear, and I am not talking about personal camp grounds, but fill up stations that no one has saved into oblivion. Going to make it a personal quest to empty these tents, then save them empty. Its like a military walmart on every server. "crosses fingers in hopes for standalone to be hack and dup free"......... :(

"Oh, it's night. Guess I'd better leave"

Well, need I say "Military Flashlight". They work fair, and since its a red light, your eyes need less time to adjust to the darkness. Or so its meant to be in RL.
  4. Ok so I have been having a slight graphic issue. When I run Dayz or CO their is flickering in the clouds and the colors seem a bit off. When I open my map their is a slight flickering of some of the surface. Not showing any thing disapear... Just a slight blinking. I am not a copmputer person at all, kinda old and I just enjoy playing these games. I just purchased a Vertex 4 ssd 120gig and did a fresh install exactly the way I had done with my older HDD. I have never had these issues and the only change has been the SSD and bumping the OS to 64 bit. Version: Steam Arma 2 Arma arrowhead Launching with Dayz commander PC: Gygabyte ex58 ud3r, 6 gig raptor ram, 2X nvidia GTX 275's Western Digital HDD and Vertex 4 SSD, i7 920, Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Im sorry if their is something I am leaving out, and I wouldnt know how to post a picture even if their was something to show. This is something that would not be evident in a still. I have been playing Dayz for a few weeks, and Arma for a long time with out these issues. It has only been since I stepped up to 64 bit, and added the Vertex SSD. Please help with thi issue.

Graphic issue Please help an old guy...

Thx I have set the Nvidia settings to every different combo I could find, as well as change the settings in the Arma UI. Nothing has changed it. If I run Arma 2, it does not affect it. If I run Arrowhead in window mode, it seems ok, but Dayz z does not run in windowed. Also if I run CO in normal full screen, it shows these graphic issues. So it only shows up in Dayz and CO. Im going to reinstall everything on my HHD, that has a seperate 64bit windows OS. See if it does the same thing.
  6. First I don't have much exp at advertising looking for a Group, so bare with me. I'm a 42 year "old man" looking for a group or clan that has lower number of members, who are more interested in quality as opposed to quantity. Just started playing DayZ 6-7 days ago, but have had no issues surviving and thriving. But the "public" servers are just loaded with server jumpers, and hacks that it almost discouraged me from continuing till the stand alone is released. 1) I am on the west coast, but my play times can be almost any time zone. Have an updated comp i7 oc'ed to 3.4, nvidia GTX 680, plenty of ram and my connection speed is very fast/stable. 2) Their are no concerns when it comes to equipment or needed upgrades per request of our team, as I have my own cash for expenses. I am not a child, nor do I need permissions from the wife...."maybe a little". :) btw: no offense to the younger crowd. 3) Have no issues with fulfilling what ever roles the team needs in regards to training, position, or fire team. Pm me, if your in need of a reliable player to be their night or day. Looking forward to meeting some decent mature people that enjoy taking their hobbie "gaming" seriously with entertainment at its core.

    DayZ Standalone Confirmed

Ok this is coming way late, and I really doubt you will read this....but. I am 42 years old, I "DO" remember days of the old, where the experience was in the discovery, to be lost then found again, only to be lost again. That's what it is to be engulfed, enveloped within a "real" game. Your comment helped confirm their are still people out their looking for that type of exp. Just got started with DayZ 3 days ago. Only to come upon a tent with a G36 silenced in camo. BTW: What I see is people server hoping to get gear.....Bullshit, I died 3 times before I got near feeling the grasp of handling food and water. Needless to say, after building my Char up with ghillie, M1A1, compass map, watch and all my necessities balanced, of which I spent 3 days on 2 servers, never hoping from server to server because I don't have douchebag disease, I re-logged about an hour later and the game told me I had died. At that time, I was in endless fields with nothing but a blank canvass and now I don't have a clue what to do. Thanks Hackers, I had no idea what I had picked up. Truth..... really kinda ruined the feeling and now I am stuck. Cant wait for the standalone, will be great having all the cheaters per-ma banned. If your one of them, thanks for screwing up my game time, hope you enjoy being banned. Sorry for the long book....first post and way to much to say.
