If you try set up a trading post or store, the nearest troll/bandit will just ruin it all. EDIT: Unless you have 10 people hiding or on rooftops guarding the area.

take out the "gaining humanity" part of the idea, giving the common bandit a way to gain enough humanity to disguise themselves.
