There's the meaning of a bandit you can find in a dictionary. But DayZ bandits are players that formed the mod into a deathmatch with zombies.

Hmmm...the last time i got ArmA'd was...when i was walking down some stairs and apperantly the floor was slippery so i slid off the stairs and to my short fall death. Then the child of my group turned into a fucking vulture.

1. The hate is probably people getting upset at the fact their *easy* kills are getting fed up and leaving. 2. Seperate Hives for PvP and PvE servers. -

Nah, i've seen two guys in a small town fighting off zombies while i watched from a distance and one of the cheeky bastards decided to pull a shane on his friend. later i followed the guy who betrayed his friend, then i shot him. EDIT: But no i've never gotten desperate.
