Suggestion - disable VOIP during gameplay

steam OS. I had this thought myself, but how would it get implemented, and then i thought what if dayz could be rung in a special mode in steam OS, where only in game VOIP/radios was allowed, yes steam OS is in alfa, but so is dayz, and this might actually be possible in the future, and would make one great f****** gameing experience. And yes you could just use a secondary laptop/phone but most people wouldn't, and then you would have to use annoying Earplugs under your headset. -
CQC(Close Quarters Combat) = hand to hand, i presume you mean close cuarters gun fighting(CQB), however in both cases Duel-Wielding sucks as, in CQC one of the big issues is weapon retention, duel-wielding wouldn't help there. And in CQB with handguns what you need is almost surgical precision, to stop a committed opponent, hitting the brain, spine, hips, heart and lungs, and again duel-wielding wouldn't help, handguns are fairly ineffective IRL. edited Yes its just a game, but i presume we are discussing the authenticity of duel-wielding here.

Yes, western guns should just be rare, and so Should the ammunition, western stuff should be found at US and NOTO random spawned, Roadblocks, crash sites (Choppers, Humvees, trucks) and drop/assembly zones....

Revive it from the dead you say, well I agree that IED's should be in the game, and Minefields sounds interesting, it should probably be random Spawned marked Minefields i think. 9v battery + RPG rounds = BOOM! (would probably be good to have a trigger in their)

I think it should be something like, the first time you repair a car, you can only get it's for example Wheels upto 75% HP...And getting only 90% content from a can, when using a can opener, and maybe you would eventually be able to open can's without a can opener... Maybe if you were "healthy" for long periods of time, you would become stronger, maximum strength = for example up to 20% more maximum HP, and up to 20% more maximum blood, better stamina/weight-carrying when a stamina/weight system is implemented, and a strong Character wouldn't get sick or infections, as easy. But it Should only be small increases, and a maximum of 15% - 25% i think.

I would like to Get rid of the 100m, 200m, 300m, 400m... zeroing, and i Suggest instead a fixed zero for Aimpoint's, ACOG's and most iron sights. The fixed zero should be whatever makes sense for that particular weapon system. For example M4's, M16's and AK74's a 300 yard (274m) zero is accurate from 23m out to 274m, and then you use hold-over's, And Mosin's for example were originally zeroed for 300 meters, so the 30cal bullet rises out beyond a 100 meters, and hits very high(about 32CM) at 100 meters, so the shooter had to compensate... For scope's you should have to zero your elevation turret and windage turret in half mil's or MOA, and i Suggest you turn your turret's with the mouse wheel that way you will, see, Hear and feel the click,click,click, this would add a lot more skilled sniping, so you go wow, instead of f***ing wank...... Reasons why.- Authenticity, IRL you don't screw around with the front sight post whenever you're in CQB.- Right now it's the only UI left, and getting rid of it would be a plus.- Zeroing in Increments of 100, It makes sniping easy, a specially with dayzdb.- It's annoying, unrealistic and unnecessary having to zero all the time. I'm not suggesting this should be the top priority, but something i would like to see in the future. And it would be nice if you could manually zero your rifle as well, but i realise mostly useless and there for a Waste of the developers time. I agree we need a somewhat extreme measure to stop the hopping, not just a half measure like a 5 - 15 - 25 minute timer.But force all your friends to play on the same server all the time, it just isn't realistic, and Committing to a single community, that is private hive.Other MMO's have more than, 40 - 60 player's per server, and even if we get 200 player's per server their isn't a comparison to MMO's. Don't get me wrong, i like your idea, it just needs polish. -

This is a good idea, i'm not opposed to this, but it needs a bit of polish, otherwise you wouldn't be able to play with your friends, unless all of your friends always plays on the same server, or you would have to kill your character every time you join your friends. maybe the 24 hours could be cut down to 12 hours or 8 hours, and you can have for example up to three characters, only one character locked to a server at a time. -

I said "add a roadblock/checkpoint a Barrett 50CAL or M240 would be my choice if i couldn't get a Bradley or a browning" M240 LMG 762X51 - the browning 50 HMG, and the Barrett M82 isn't slow. You can't always get what you want. and do you want less, not more when you're life is on the line.

I agree russian guns should be the most frequent, and i look forward to seeing the SVD, but we already have US guns, gas mask's, and the MICH Helmet, so it's safe to presume that the US army was involved in chernarus, and if so they were probably trying to contain the outbreak, by first Shutting down the main roads, so no one could get out, infected or not, and the outbreak probably happened quickly so maybe nato and the US couldn't get armour in fast enough, instead resulting to airdrops, and add a roadblock/checkpoint a Barrett 50CAL or M240 would be my choice if i couldn't get a Bradley or a browning. I don't have a problem with high powered / over powered weapons, they should just be rare, and a Barrett would and should have it's downsides, such as the Weight, if no weight system gets added to SA(i hope it does) than it should reduce movement by 40%, the sound signature should attract zombies from about a Kilometre away, and a massive dust Kick-op, would be cool if a 50CAL Kicks dust op, like a car thus in the mod.

Not easy but simple, one character/avatar per server. If more than X number of characters, than the first of X number is deleted, or you manually delete one of your characters, when joining a new server... The bad:- Would be kind of bad for combat Loging, as you can't play/Login right away with the same character.- Bad for server hopping, would kill it entirely.- Bad for server hopp,flank,hopp back, kill, would kill it entirely.- More stress on the hive. probably not feasible for now.- You and your friends, have to decide on one server and stick to it. might be good for server's and maybe even the hive. Yes, personally i don't like that idea, having to find your friends, every time the server restarts, and the randomness of it, It might spawn you and your friends away from your car, and a Random guy spawn's next to it, you might spawn in a hot zone, maybe altar is the hot zone of this particular time, you never no where it is, and this way you never have a say in where to spawn in, and i think it would break the immersion and realistic/Authentic feel, at least for me.

If the hive could cope no problem at all, and we get 80+ server capacity, i think this would probably be the way to go, i'm not a pose to timers, but i think they would be a small patch on a gaping wound, and end up being just a annoyance. A scenario: 8 man clan looking for kills, split in two Squads, a 4 man Squad on one server, a 4 man Squad on a other, when a Squad gets contact, the other Squad start flanking and when they are behind the contact, they server hopp, it could get olde fast, and i could do a lot more scenario's, and yes you could just join a private hive, but would be nice if you wouldn't absolutely have to.

i'ts a good point, but you have the same problem on a private hive, and i don't think it will be as big a problem when we get 80/100/120... Player server's, but right now yes i can see that as a problem.

What would we do without you CaptainHindsight, jam's and gun maintenance, would be great to see at some point, as the nato and US army stuff would be harder to Maintain and more prone to jam's, and jam's would be a good reason to carry a secondary, otherwise there would be no reason to carry a side arm.

Yes, NATO and US army weapons and gear should be rare, and focused on one or two area's on the map, it should be mostly AK's SKS's Makarov's and Hunting Rifles. side note: A NATO base/Deployment zone up North/west somewhere and perhaps a US one aswell, many zombie Souljah's with body armor up their. just a thought.
