Bug happened to me today. Only one on server. I was doing some website scripting and forgot to log out. Came back to the computer later and remembered that I'd forgotten to log out. Maximised ARMA II and briefly saw a frozen picture of myself in game before the black 'you are dead' message filled the screen. Re-spawned and headed back to my body (about 5-10 mins) and it wasn't there. After being in the area for a few minutes the fly noises started which allowed me to locate where my body should have been and coincided where I had left myself standing. Seen this bug happen a few times, I can live with it as in all honesty as it's not very realistic to re-spawn and have knowledge of your 'prior life'. -

There is a server you can join that will insta-kill you for situations such as this, unfortunately I do not know the address or name of the server but someone else here might. But your problem is going to happen again and again as these poor molested script kiddies continue to masturbate all over the public servers. If you want a script-kiddie free environment then please PM me about becoming whitelisted on my server. Cheers. -
"Kicked-Battleye not responding" whenever I try to play on a dayz server

Hi TaintedSteel, I was having similar problems as you. To remedy this I have started sitting in the lobby until I receive the Battleye Update message. After receiving that message I can join the server without being kicked. Joining before Battleye does its check can result in being kicked for not updating. Cheers. -

Adding an in game communication system (ideas)

Personally I don't think that's very realistic. Even if these devices still had fully charged batteries the infrastructure for their communication is no longer there. I have thought of the idea of community notice boards set up in the towns where you could perhaps write a note and display it there. Maybe over time these notes would deteriorate in the weather. A feature I am in the process of adding to my whitelist private hive is an integrated messaging system in the website. This basically emulates a poorly powered radio transmitter/receiver. So the survivor writes a message into the message box on the site (limited to one message very two minutes). The message is then relayed on the site and depending on the other online survivors' proximity to the originating message the quality of the message received will deteriorate accordingly. Basically, the further away another survivor is the more distorted the message will appear to them. This I think keeps with the realism that DayZ is all about. Cheers, Dave. -
I couldn't find a section where DayZ hosts were listed so I've decided to post this here: I've been using Survival Servers now (a dedicated DayZ hosting company - http://www.survivals...aff.php?aff=020) for a few weeks and have to say they are excellent. Very fast set-up, they provide Chenarus and Lingor, they host @hive, @bliss v3.5 (their own Survival Servers hive network based on bliss) and completely private hives so you can set up your own community and build servers on that hive. Their prices are competitive (you can start renting from as low as $40 p/m) and they have many 3rd party features such as removing all out of bounds vehicles, changing time limit on wire, hedgehogs and sandbags. All vehicle and tent saves work. All vehicles spawn (up to a max of 75). They provide hosting in US and Europe. There are many other features that make this host great. And yes, that's my affiliate link in the address. If you don't want to help me out by using that (basically a spotters fee) I won't hate you but please at least check them out for yourselves. For me, personally, it is the ARMA II engine that has made this game so visually appealing from the onset. The way lighting works means there is no practical light hack allowing ppl to see unhindered in the dark (no amount of contrast or brightness adjustment is going to give you any more detail at night). Any other engine would have resulted in this game/mod looking like another cartoon zombie fps. -

Hi all, I'd just like to retract my earlier statement regarding Play WithSIX. In all honesty I had not given it a fair go or the consideration that this is a preview release. Since my previous statement I have come to love PWS and the possibilities the future holds with it. I'm impressed by the active development of the program and website and, just like DayZ, this is only going to get better with time. So in conclusion I would like to thank the team at PWS especially Sickboy for taking the time to personally address my concerns. Cheers, Dave. -

I recently rented a server for DayZ (US 3105) and initially there were vehicles, then during normal server operation (not after a restart/crash) ALL the vehicles have disappeared. I'm guessing that this is not a @Hive issue but rather a hacker teleporting all the vehicles to another location. I'm wondering if the public @Hive has any plans to fix this, eg a nightly check to replace/restore missing vehicles etc, or should I cancel my server rental and go with a @bliss server instead? I understand that DayZ is in Alpha but that does not take away from the fact that I am $35 p/m down for a server that has no vehicles. Cheers.

As the server had only been online for 3-4 hours when ALL the vehicles disappeared then I doubt it is hoarders. This is more than likely a hack script (imo) that has removed the vehicles from playable areas.
