bandits are the real noobs of dayz :D I was a bandit as well, but it is just too easy. Now I am friendly. You know, human interaction can last a bit longer if the other one is not dead on the ground.

Ah and some sniper-gameplay related stuff: I have been sniped twice in over two months of DayZ One time in an open firefight group vs group, one time because i was more or less afk Like OP stated: If you get sniped often YOU are doing something wrong. I have seen so many people (through my scope) crawling around in cities. As if they would have all time in the world. They think they play safe as they avoid zombies. But zombies are not the danger. Standing / sitting / being prone is the the danger. I think I could loot the tents at stary while a DMR on the hill keeps firing on me. KEEP RUNNING 80% of those snipers in DayZ don't know what they are doing.

Very good argumentation, totally agree. Only thing: I'd pledge to remove .50 cals since they require next to no skill to hit a target. E.g. if you have a target standing at 400m you can zero to 300 or 500m and you will still land a deadly shot. DayZ doesn't have to be balanced - but that is just too easy. 'Skill-required' should play a factor in the game design. But OK, DayZ has a lot of things to "balance" a weapon: Sound (Player / Zombies), Weapon rarity, Ammo rarity, Space used. If an AS50 is: Rare. Loud. Rare ammo. No backpack while carrying this weapon. Then: No problem. You can include any weapons in this mod. (Currently: Not rare, not loud, not much space required)

Yea... Green mountain. A dangerous, mystic place. One guy from our group asked about this place. He has never visited this place but heard the stories. We just told him what everyone would, we did warn him, tried to convince him not to go there. His curiosity won and we dropped him with our chopper near Green mountain. (We made sure not to fly directly over it). Well, he started to explore this place. Soon he meant to realize that we tried to trick him. He saw the pile of dead bodies on the compound, some zombies walking around - he was not impressed. At last he climbed up the tower to the top. Nothing happens. "You have to activate it", we are telling him in TS. - "What? "Yea, how was it... press C V B" He never returned from Green mountain.

COD kiddies? What have you played before DayZ? Civilisation? I guess 80% of the DayZ players have some kind of ego-shooter career. And (I am sorry), nearly all shooters are as simple-minded as COD. I played CS, DayOfDefeat, Halflife, Quake and UT myself... Ah, and I played NaturalSelection, actually one of the few smart MP shooters out there.

Once I learned that being a "bandit" is actually the easiest way to play DayZ I switched to a friendly. One recent encounter was quite funny: Was sitting somewhere south of Zeleno in a treeline, watching the open fields. Suddenly a random guy runs out of the forest right next to me... He sits down just 15 meters away, pistol in his hands, Lee Enfield shouldered. I talk to him: "Hey dude, I am friendly. Don't make a wrong move. What are your intentions?" His immediate reaction: Equipping his LeeEnfield. Wrong move :D

That sounds good. I personally have adopted a "friendly" playstyle as well and will try to convince others to join.
