Hmm you observation is correct. The reasons behind this are: 1) Flaws in some mechanics. E.g. loot system allowing farming etc. 2) Duping 3) Not enough tools to create endgame content 4) TS > Internal communication 4) can't be fixed, the rest if hopefully just a matter of time. I don't think it makes sense to blame the community for a certain type of behavior. In the end, people want to be "successfull" in what they are doing. If the gamedesign is facilitating a "non-dayZ experience" than the design has to improve further. /// Well written, but could have been a lot shorter with the same content. -

Hmm.... we have medics, we a chopper service (yeah, that's us: CSS) You could open a taxi service on the ground. Or you could offer a mercanary service. I am actually thinking about hiring a very professional mercanary service from time to time for CSS. Sometimes we have fishy customers :) Or you could think of some kind of mega-organization which would allow you to cover an extensive tent-city 24/7. (Not atm yea... hacker / ghoster). Head-hunter service? Try to lure a target person into a (deadly) trade and get well paid for selling your soul? Or specialize in vacations. Find the most scenic places on the map and drive your customers there to chill out for an hour. Supply moutain dew, beef and a fireside.Some music over direct chat. Perhaps some entertainment programm as well :D E.g. allow them to try out different weapon on an unarmed target (teammates of yours) who is trying to dodge their shots. I am getting more and more diabolic so I should stop writing here now :D -

But I guess you need at least a small group to do this successfully in many cases. Approach in cover / have someone ready to knock them. If they respond in a friendly way, have a talk, a small trade perhaps. Much more long-lasting interaction than just to shoot them. That's a different thing if i get surprised by someone and have no control over the situation. That would be partly their own fault and/ or bad luck. E.g. yesterday we have filled up our heli at a fuel station. Suddenly a red car heads right towards us. We reacted quickly and pumped the car full of lead. Was it the right thing to do? I don't think so. I can justify it as we have been surprised by their sudden appearance, yes. But it was not necessary. 4 guns pointed at their direction, not including the mounted heavy MG on our chopper. They would habe been just plainly stupid to try something. Once the situation has calmed down I have approached the wrecked car carefully [ensuring my own safety]. Said that we are sorry etc. and offered our help if. Hm the girl was dead and the other DCed. Not proud of that story, we could have done better. //// Now compare this experience to your KOS attitude. KOS is just plainly effective, but not that exciting and difficult than a more realistic / friendly behavior. Just my 2 cents.

Why are dogs going to be in DayZ?

Perhaps a dog will react on people with low humanity? Would be a good idea anyway :) Haven't had a dog yet personally (in RL) but in movies they always bark at the bad guy. At least would us keep in a cineastic tradition. -

If you play alone: Yes, good one. The larger your group the lesser useful is the M4 SD because the rest of your team will make noise anyway. Good to have a couple of them in the team but that's it. It is just lacking power and range. -

You got my beans, but overall this issue will be different in the standalone anyway. The arma3 engine is much better at displaying darkness and light sources. -
