  5. Haven't used it in combat yet, just made some tests yesterday. I've shot at a small rock in 300 m distance (60 shots) and it was absolutely accurate (both prone and standing). Personally I think this "AWS inacurrate" is a myth. Probably people are mislead by the sniper scope... it is an assault rifle with a sniper scope; so if you can shoot accurate at 300m there is no reason to call this gun inaccurate. Am I right or not?
  6. Gameplay-wise you did everything correct (except of being in a firestation maybe ;) ) No player will survive two hits with a Lee Enfield. Already 1 hit should have put him down. So: - You have missed him - You missed him due to lag - He's a cheater The two first points are much more likely. That you couldn't fire your weapon in the end: Lag? Weapon lowered? (double-strg?) Maybe you have actived some other kind of control-combination... Anyhow, have not encountered this once.

  9. I am a bit sceptical ;) The pilot was already bleeding? Perhaps the OP shot the pilot before he entered the helicopter. Then they timed the death through blood loss with the makarov shot.

    That would be safe indeed, but rather inflexible on the other hand. We try to pick up our customers as soon as possible after they have contacted us. Driving with a car to the pick up point would delay this process quite a bit.

    Stats and Stories: Current customer count: 9 No bandit incidents. Once we landed on a sheep, but that's it. No further casulties. Note on reservations: There are just many things which can go wrong before we are ready for lift-off. A reservation will give you a place in our queque but it is difficult to estimate at what time we are ready to pick you up a day in advance. Once our chopper is in the air we can give you a time. Customer Quotes: "These guys are amazing. Very helpful and very safe, definitely recommend! Anyone who needs a ride, hit these guys up!"   19. I've played a bit Arma2 ... from my experience the minimum altitude is 140m for a relatively safe jump. You still will die 20%... 200 meters can be considered as safe. Ah, and you have to activate the parachute yourself (mousewheel) after you jumped out. Haven't tried this in DayZ though.

    I am doing the same now. I mean, shooting on sight is just too easy. Higher difficulty to ask for friendly and have a communication while your team still ensures maximum security. If they reply: Good, perhaps a small trade. If they don't reply or show some kind of agressiveness... they should be dead in seconds :)

    I dont want to apply, just to answer the questions :D 1) You have just respawned near cherno and make it a goal of yours to enter the city to acquire basic supplies. As you get closer you hear multiple gunshots and sniperfire, you notice only 1 person dies. What do you do from here to get in and out as safely as possible? "Anyone in Cherno?" I would not change my plan in response to some gunfire in Cherno, except of adapting my movement and avoid certain areas. 2) You are playing as a heavy assault role, and as you are running with your 5-man squad near Stary Sobor, you hear a single sniper shot and 1 of your teammates gets killed. What do you do from here (and retreat is never an option)? First reaction as a common soldier is quite easy: - Report your intel on direction / distance / weapon - Find solid cover or keep moving. Keep your head down and wait for commands. - If your colleague would be alive: Own safety first. Find solid cover, then protect his body with smoke grenades. Keep your head down and wait for commands. - Keep your mouth shut if you don't have any fresh intel. From a commanders perspective: - Find solid cover or keep moving - Get clear about the situation, listening to the intel of your colleagues - Make sure your colleagues have taken cover - Organize a defense to cover your flanks Can we engange the the sniper now? As we have run into a trap our intel is rather limited. As we are in stary we should expect a group of up to 5 players as the worst case scenario. I would send those players who are in an adequate position to flank the enemy. Suppressive fire from our current location is too risky and will have not much effect. (Because the sniper knows we haven't seen him and therefore knows that we are firing blindly. He will need just 2 seconds to kill the guy giving covering fire.) If we don't have some guys in a position to flank the enemy, use smoke to conceal their movement. If we can't flank them and are pinned down, organize a coordinated attack with smoke, covering fire etc. to distract the sniper. Consider a temporary retreat might be the best option. 3) We are entering the city of elektro to give assistance to a wounded teammate located in the store. You are told their is 1 nearby sniper with range of the store and 2 nearby riflemen, all who are attempting to finish off our comrade. You are in command of a 5 man squad and must help him + eliminate the threat. What are your orders from here? Not enough information given, as much will depend on the enemy's position and your own position.

    Welcome to DayZ. Good decision to leave the coast, the real game is played in the north. Just discover the map with a sense for adventure. Something will happen :)
