Hey man let me know if you have some interest in playing sometime. I live in western US and usually play at night. I just got back into dayz after a long hiatus and have been playing Epoch on a BMRF server. I used to play with a 7 man squad but that was a long time ago and now would like to play with only 1-2 other players. I play seriously but in a casual way if that makes any sense. I would be willing to try another server so let me know. I use TS for voice comm and am in my mid 20s.

So I used to play the mod a lot over a year ago and took a break from it. I have just gotten back into the game and unfortunately everyone I used to play with has since left it. I will get and play SA at some point but after going through the development of that I am wanting to just play the mod for now. Either vanilla Dayz or maybe Dayz Epoch. So a little more info. I live in western USA and usually play at night. I know my way around the game just fine and have played both LW and with medium sized groups. I am in my mid 20s so I would prefer someone who is around that age and wanting to play the game in a casual way. I don't like to KOS but That doesn't mean I'm afraid of a firefight. So if you are just another lone wolf wanting someone to acompany you or are part of a small group and wanting to play let me know. I use Teamspeak for voice comm and my Steam name is also Sakka. Let me know and happy hunting.

I think the Standalone will be fantastic, no matter what the other threads say.

I agree with the guy abov about just having to wait and see. There have been countless games/movies/tv shows that seemed perfect for me but then the actual final product is not what you had imagined and it lets you down. At the end of the day we can't speculate on how the game is going to do until it is out and we are playing the real thing. We all remember Diablo 3 right. Game seemed so promising...but then it barely delivered the goods and the launch was a clusterf@ck! -
Hate to say it but unless the zombie outbreak started in Chernarus then there would be no way they would sending military personel there. If it was a world wide issue they would try to lock down major cities and other high value locations. I don't think they would be sending the military to go help out small cities or even to degree certain countries. It would be mass pandemonium and everyone would be trying to help themselves. Why the hell would the any country be sending troops to a considerably small and lacking group of cities in Eastern Europe? There is doesn't seem to be anything in terms of an advantage of holding Chernarus. Sorry I rambled bad...sometimes the booze makes me do what it wants. Basically I don't feel that too many military vehicles and weapons would be present in Chernarus unless they explain through a back story of some sorts that it is where or near where the outbreak started. I mean honestly they don't even have an airport in Chernarus...just a few sets of runways with some hangers the military made? So how important is this place on a scale of an apocalypse?

I do agree with the idea that the military loot should have it spawn rate dropped significantly. I find more sniper rifles then I do LMGs. About the helicopter...I am torn. Personally if a zombie apocalypse happened and I saw a helicopter I wouldn't even think about trying to fly it. Are you serious I know how that flight would end without any sort of knowledge or instruction. In a blaze of glory. I don't think it should be impossible but at the same time do any of you drive a car on a regular basis IRL because a lot of people can't even take the time to learn how to do that properly let alone learn how to fly a Heli or plane.

wildlife signals on dead bodies and cold gunfights

You guys do realize cows graze right? That means they eat grass. I don't believe with all the fields and vegetation that exist in the game that the cows would start eating decomposing human flesh. Sorry but that is a bad idea and doesn't make any sense. The idea about birds circling or making noise around dead bodies is a good one though. -
+1 I have thought about that so many times. If I found a can of spaghettiOs I wouldn't eat them at room temp... I'd heat those mofOs up.

In-Game activities, adding immersion.
Sakka replied to lachlan04@live.com.au's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I think this is a good idea and because of the slow pace of the game I think it would fit in well. Also to the people saying they wouldn't want to waste an inventory slot...you could always loot the cards/board game and leave them at your camp. -
How to balance all the different gamestyles?
Sakka replied to liquidmind's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
One thing about online multiplayer games is that people don't want to kill NPCs. They want to kill other gamers. It's the challenge of defeating other PEOPLE that is satisfying. I hate to say it but I enjoy it as well but in a game like dayz it is not always the answer. In COD or BF3 or any other FPS there is only one answer. Kill them. You can not group or communicate with your enemies. You can't trade or befriend anyone you come across. That is what is great about dayz, there are a lot of different answers to every situation. -
Is using teamspeak 'cheating'?
Sakka replied to Maloney (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't believe that it is cheating. I play with friends or even random survivors I meet and we always use TS to communicate. It makes the game much more enjoyable. One thing I would be totally fine with and would actually enjoy is if the game automatically synced up to in game direct to your TS PTT key or continuous. So you could talk to your friend that is 3 towns away on TS but you would also be talking in direct so anyone near you can hear you talking to no one. -
I think everyone just has to think about the challenges of actually creating something. Anything that you take the TIME to CREATE will have setbacks, frustrations,, problem solving, and over issues. At some point along the timescale you usually even question and have self doubt about the creation. Months and months of working on anything is grueling at times and makes you wondering if it is the right course. All of these things can and usually due occur along the creative process. If they didn't then the idea/creation wouldn't grow into more. Basically patience is a virtue. We need to wait until the game comes out and then wait some more. It will take time for the game to grow into its own and really get into its proper state.

Just a couple thoughts. A lot of the new population has never really experienced vanilla dayz which is a little sad. A huge thing that this game has going for it is the pace. It causes those those moments of intensity/action to seem amplified. The reason is due to the pace of the game. Sometimes the community is just wrong and you should not listen to them. Take music as an example. Take whatever your favorite album of all time is and then try to imagine what it would have become if everyone had a say in the final product. I bet it would not be your number one jam. For anyone who is worried that the game will be too hard and that will keep people away. There are plenty of hard games but once again just an example. Have you ever played Dark Souls? Truly one of my favorite games but at the same time a brutal journey. There are so many mechanics that could have been deemed "too hard" or that it would push away possible revenue or whatever. But in the end they made an evil masterpiece that would have you cursing the game one night vowing to never play again to only find yourself cursing the game the next night. That is what dayz should be like. A game that is always punishing you so that when you do prevail it is all the more rewarding for you the gamer. Just keep gaming and we will wait and see. Dayz needs to be born first before we start calling out the defects.

Use the ARMA 3 default stance system for standalone.
Sakka replied to michaelr321's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah I don't think the point is to stop people from Kosing but more for that moment when you see someone and ate trying to make contact with them but both of you are pointing your gun straight at each other. It makes things very uneasy when both players are trying to look/speak to each other and it looks like they might kill you any moment. Before you tell me about double tapping control...I am fully aware of that but it seems like most of the player base doesn't know about it or they simply don't use it. -
So hey? Anyone wants a guy to join them in a life of DayZ?
Sakka replied to CodeDenzy's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hey man if you see this message me back. I am ready to game.
