  6. see you say that, but i have more than once been inside of (for example) a store with spawns, reconnected for whatever reason, and the spawns became empty shrug
  7. it means you despawned it the distance seems to be around 200-300m on average but can also appear pretty random; things spawned by another player nearby will also not be despawned by you loading in nearby

  12. on top of that, rocket has already attempted to implement exactly this unfortunately it does not appear to be working correctly yet, as i attempted to take out two dudes outside of Bor yesterday and they simply instant dc'd without issue
  13. not a single one of those points will change how i play the game 1. okay, bandits will use CZ550's and lee enfields and fucking crossbows to kill you in the same places they always have. it's also absurd to think that an abandoned, death-ravaged country that had an active military would somehow not have any military equipment lying around. 2. scarcity is barely a factor when i can kill others with ammo and horde it. it also doesn't prevent me from just running my deer stand/stary circuit a couple more times than usual. it only delays the inevitable. 3. see 2 4. scoreboard and kill messages have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with how i play the game and will not alter my (or anyone else's) behavior in the slightest. again: if players can shoot each other, they will. please accept it and understand that it is the sole reason the game is so exciting.

    i have had loot vanish or not spawn around me at the stary tents, zelenogorsk and berezino stores, and numerous deer stands it may bug out sometimes, but the functionality is definitely there; i'm unsure of the exact distance from loot that this starts to apply, though. you can definitely run all the way out of the stary tents to the tree hill north of them, switch servers, and have loot spawn, but that's a fair distance away (200-300m-ish).

    afaik loot spawns are already removed in that manner the only way they aren't is if another player is already in the area you loaded into

  17. this is already the case. wild exaggerations or using your own personal playstyle/experiences as the basis for an entire community with hundreds of thousands of players is not going to further any suggestions you want to present.
  18. it's a shame you put all that effort into that large and well-stated OP because the bottom line is this: as long as players can shoot each other, they will. and this is a very good thing. i have been attempting to stress in several posts now that static, AI-driven NPC code will never, ever, ever approach the uncertainty and excitement of dealing with a player whose intentions are unknowable. no matter how much crap you try to pile up to increase difficulty, it will eventually be figured out and distilled down to something easily overcome. the only way to have a constant supply of fresh experiences is through potentially hostile player interaction.
  19. ones that relied on persistence as a core mechanic of gameplay and offered servers that max at 50 slots? nope (i really hope you're not trying to suggest that dayz's online situation is even remotely comparable to any other major market fps)
  20. servers that handled hundreds or thousands concurrently in say world of warcraft still had long queues times at peak hours now you want to try and apply that to a 50 slot server? really?
  21. so much fail 1. you did not present a single 'fact' in your post and there are clearly more player types than what you attempt to present as fact (such as teams/groups who have organized PVP, bandits who only fight other geared bandits in the north, non-combatants that want to run around providing random item/vehicle support, etc.) 2. zombies are STATIC CODE and will FOREVER be trivial to defeat; only human players can perform unexpected or new actions to keep the experience interesting and deadly. there would be NOTHING interesting or fun about a PVE server in this game whatsoever. what are you going to do, walk around bragging about all the zombies you shot while you all compare the exact same gear that you all obtained without any fear of dying? 3. the only people that complain about so-called 'bandit playstyles' are actually saying 'EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT PLAY THE GAME LIKE ME IS WRONG' and/or 'BOOHOO I DIED' although in this case, i am in fact saying anyone who wants non-PVP servers is playing the game wrong
  22. i would be on day 31 if that damn pine tree on the north elektro hill didn't decide to tear my intestines out when i attempted to prone around the front of it surviving is easy; finding a glorious (non-bug related) death is the challenge
  23. it seems like it should also be possible to log when players acquire extremely rare items (NVG, GPS, L85, AS50, etc) this would make it extremely obvious who is exploiting when the same player acquires 18 pairs of NVGs in the same day i also wonder why items themselves are not assigned some kind of identifier when acquired by a player. if this was done, then duped items could have identical GUIDs and be recognized as duplicates. but maybe the overhead incurred from these methods is too much for these already-strained servers to handle, idk
