I am not sure what this means or if it is directed at me. If it is, and you are insinuating that I play / played in a group with someone called "magic", then it is not true. I have only played in a group twice on Namalsk and both times was with one other person and the same person both times. I think the intent of my OP has been missed. I am not seeking to be unbanned so I can come back and use these servers. I have no desire to do that whatsoever after all of this. The intent is to point out that the process or policies the admins follow for blocking people has some decent flaws in it. From what I gleaned in one of the replies, I am not the only player named Michael. This aside, when others decide to submit complaints / accusations of other players conduct, how are they able to know the player name of these people? If there is some way of knowing the name of a player you think is combat logging (or whatever other disallowed behavior) and the name Michael has been discerned as the culprit, then you have the wrong Michael. Perhaps your method of selecting which one to block should be reviewed as well as whatever else is done to verify any complaints leveled.

Yes, my player name is Michael. I had considered a ban appeal, however considering what has happened it seemed a futile venture. If you did mistakenly ban me, I would like to say that if you're going to accuse somebody of cheating and block them from your server(s), please make sure in future, to the best of your abilities, that you have the right person. edit : typo

To anyone who plays on these servers, this may be of interest to you. I have been playing DayZ since it was first released. I experienced the golden period when there was no cheating and the game was actually about survival and not deathmatch. Since then, as you all know, it has descended into a comedic farce of cheating, trolling and pure PvP. I had grown very tired of the cheating and sought refuge on a whitelist only, private hive server called Balota Buddies. It was previously public, but as the cheating became epidemic it became a whitelist only group of servers. Sick of being killed by cheaters, I applied and was whitelisted. As it turns out, I did not get banned and one of the players from the group I killed, joined my channel on teamspeak and apologised for accusing me of cheating as he had reviewed his fraps footage. At this point I should mention that one of the people in the group I killed was an admin. I never heard anything from this admin after this incident. Two of my friends decided to apply for whitelisting and were accepted. One of them, during the teamspeak "interview" was asked who he played with and he mentioned my name. The admin then told him I was on their watch list for "ghosting". I had no idea what this was until my friend told me that it is "listening in to other peoples teamspeak channels to know where they are and what they're doing, to kill them". I have never done anything like that at all, ever. Surely there are teamspeak logs that admins can check to see channel switches. This really ruffled my feathers. Twice from the same group of people I had my integrity called into question and accusations hurled, with no evidence. I began to play less and less on their servers due to my disdain with their conduct. Finally, last night, my friends and I went to join the server in question as others were full and very laggy, only for me to find that I had been "permanently banned for combat logging". Since the latest patch, you cannot combat log; but that doesn't matter because I _never_ do that. My friends probably won't and I am never going back (I can't obviously) to those servers. Petty and immature administration. tl;dr - killed admin and his group, was threatened with ban for cheating and then vindicated. Then accused of "ghosting" in teamspeak and finally banned for "combat logging" on Balota Buddies servers.

Thanks for the input guys. I don't know what will happen with checking into logs or anything as one of the people I killed in this incident was an administrator and he seemed firm in his stance that I had cheated.

Hi everyone. I recently went through the process of getting whitelisted for a private hive server so I could play Namalsk, unmolested by cheaters. My application went through and I had been playing recently. I had also been playing before the whitelist requirement and had gathered up an awesome kit of gear. Anyhow, tonight I logged in to the server and spawned where I logged out : in the underground bunker at "Object All". I was at the top of the stairwell with the rubble in it, right where you climb down the ladder into the first part of the bunker, from the outside. Upon loading in, I heard footsteps. I turn to face the ladder which leads to the surface and see a bandit knelt down facing left past the elevator block. I immediately shot him twice with my M14 and he fell over dead. I stayed still and listened. There were more scuffling sounds. I ran around to look behind the elevator and there were 2-3 other people there as well. 2 were prone, one standing, I unloaded and killed them all (don't judge me, Namalsk is rife with murder). I take a packet of warm clothes from one of the bodies (which was the reason I was in the bunker in the first place, looking for some), hide the bodies, put on the clothes, climb the ladder and run off into the woods. At this time, all the people I had just killed joined my channel in the server's teamspeak and basically accused / insinuated that I had hack killed them. I couldn't get much detail exactly, but I spoke to one of them at length on teamspeak about what happened and apparently from their perspective, they were not in the area I described to them, when they died. They said they were spread out through the tunnels, away from where I was. Can anyone possibly shed some light as to how this could have happened? I am being banned from the server as a result, which I can understand from their perspective, however I have done nothing wrong and feel terrible about this. Thanks for any suggestions.

Yeah I agree. I was playing on private hives for a while but eventually they were compromised as well. It is just a shame that one needs to avoid high population servers to play the game properly, especially because interacting with other players is a key part of the game.

This part of the forum is for reporting cheating. As said above, not helpful. More a puerile abuse of the purpose of this section.

Server : ANZ 3 Time : ~4:20pm (Brisbane, Australia) (1) I was rushing to heal a friend in the train station in Elektro. A player in a bandit skin and with a silenced M4 spoke to my friend from outside the building with no LOS. He then entered the building aiming directly at where my friend was and killed him. I arrived at the same building shortly after and was killed instantly up entering as he was also aiming directly at me despite a stealth approach. Possible "see through walls" hack. (2) A GOD mode hacker was killing people around the church in Elektro. He was standing over my friends unconcious body and I head shotted him with an enfield, as did my friend before he was hurt. The player then ran into the church and destroyed it with a satchel charge. I could go on, but it is seemingly pointless. The problem is endemic.
