    GUIDs to copy in game menu

    Please let people to copypaste GUID from game panel, I have wasted a lot of time time to correct peoples GUIDs and look for correct ones inside logs. This was a problem in MOD, now it is again.

    Dynamic zombie values

    How about making zombie boost made by nearby players? For example, 10% to damage to us and damage reduction on zombie for each player within range (i.e. 500 meters). This value might be capped to 5-6, for me, uncapped might be also look great. I also thought about all players boosting one random statistic of a zombie. One player would boost zombies durability, other one damage, other speed. So there would be different mix all the time, like for example sometimes same hard zombies but twice fast. This would be real game changer, especially in big cities where players love to deathmatch using axes. 10 Players nearby? Twice hard and twice more threat zombies everywhere. Also, idea would scale difficulty for larger groups which have numbers advantage. If not in vanilla, it would be great if we have such opportunity while modding, to boost some zombie parameters. There might be some mechanisms to play with if there is an option to boost zombies somehow. I'm affraid just one thing, that this might hit server performance.

    A few thoughts on.. (Difficulty, Modding, etc)

    We had our servers online about 3-4 years ago. We've tried to make our fork of vanilla DayZ at dayzinfo.pl and we had a private server closed for Polish community. Our ideas were to create DayZ same style as you have it right now in SA. We were working on hunger system similiar to current only (we also had stomack and life was generated when you were full), unfortunatelly our main coder had real life problems and had to stop. But part of it was already working on test server. We've also tried to reduce damage output by removing some weapons and dropping spawnrate of better ones. Like for example we had one sniper M40 which was not so powerfull as DMR. Result of such tries was that there were 3-4 pieces of M40 on server. All in hands of 2 top groups on server. That made real advantage because they had sniper rifle, opponents had AKMs and M4 with iron sights. Even if there would be loot controled by economy, even if there would just 1 piece of each type of top tier weapon, all those weapons would be in hands of top teams which would make then even better. That is the end game on server where are good teams and bad teams. I am hardcore player, I want game hard. In DayZ, 7 days to die, only first 1-2 days are hard. In DayZ MOD, getting rifle, high capacity backpack and 2-3 cans of food ends nightmare. End of challenge, only players are "difficulty" then, rest was just too easy. Balance is not a solution here because you do balance at some level. There will always be situation where your gameplay is hard below balance level and easy over it. You can set that level high but finally game would be easy and gets easier as you reach endgame. It think that difficulty shouldn't be linear. That just don't work.

    Difficulty itself isn't a problem. As server owner of DayZ MOD I saw that most problems comes with snowball effect. It is the difference between freshspawns and full geared players. Skill, good gear, lot of loot gives hell alot of advantage. We've tried to make our server harder in DayZ MOD, removed one shot-one kill guns, made top tier loot harder to find. Result was that most skilled teams that never died, owned the server because all worse players died with AKMs with ironsights in their hands or other crap weapons. So I think that difficulty should rise with our lifetime. Each day should be harder somehow then previous one. In this way, poor players won't have their game too hard. Old hardcore players that never die would have their life more challenging. Wouldn't that be something that would work for everyone? I have no idea right now how to fight snowball effect. If DayZ gonna be real hardcore style, worse players would be screwed. Why not make a game that would give a challenge for all type of players? Even without modding.

    Loosing character

    Hi guys-administrators. Today I am comming to you asking you about the statistics.Everyday I hear complains about loosing character data. Literally everyday. People are pissed, they also say that this situation take place only on our server but not on others private shards or even public servers. What's your statistics about it? Do you have same situation? Also post your provider, mine is FragNet.

    Thanks for reply. I know and I warn everybody not to join too early. I am not saying about this case. Lot of guys lost their character when server was running for at least 10-20 minutes. In fact we have lot of aware players, they know procedures how not to loose their char but they do...few times now. That's why I am asking you if you have same. We have persistence OFF because ON is still unplayable for most of people.

    There is a problem with messages when player tries to join the server and: is not on whitelistslotlimit is set Join tries spam chat so hard, people don't see server messages set in BEC. Please remove those messages from other players chat.

    Hosting support help finding cheater?

    I have private shard rented. I know that I can't have access to server logs, it is understandable and I agree with that point of view. My server is whitelisted but somehow a cheater managed to break through. So I have collected data from players, nicknames and times when they got killed and wrote a ticket to support. I asked them to tell me cheater name so I can ban him. After few posts when I tried to explain "I DON'T WANT ACCESS, I WANT NICKNAME" I finally got an answer: "Disclosing a player name from the log files is considered partial access to them and, therefore, it is not allowed by Bohemia Interactive." Devs. What is your statement about this? I know you don't want to share logs, great, I agree with you. But shouldn't support help me with this case? Is it only their will to help me? I think this case should be clarified as soon as you don't share log files. Server rules says also I can ban players. How can I ban somebody without knowing a nickname? If not here, where can I write to talk about this case?

    Do you realise how much work it is? Right now I add about 10-15 GUIDs every hour. Checking everything by my own would take whole hour to add GUIDs. We had same problem in mod, now we have a problem in DAYZ SA. People are just stupid, that's why I ask devs to create such option.

    Lock server on start for 1-2 minutes

    Servers should be locked in first minute. Lot of people join server immediately because...they really have to be 10 second earlier...in this process they usually got their characters reseted, because server was still loading up. This makes them angry etc. So why not block server till it is fully loaded? It could be simple solution like lock for 1-2 minutes. Easy and effective solution and no more character resets or at least slightly reduced. I have tried to build a workaround using BEC, but BEC has a delay after server restart so such task is not possible. Maybe it is posibble in mission layer or something?

    Yes, you are right. I talked to hosting support, he said same thing. I also thought about puting one virtual player at start so it will load mission (as a temporary walkaround).

    Bayonet attacks

    With new controls we have option to use firearms as melee. How about making use of bayonet on our weapon with use of other game mechanics like hit collision detection and ragdoll? I mean, why using a bayonet need animation for it? Can't it be just like you run and point bayonet at enemy and you just stab him when bayonet reach him? It could work only while running and weapon in ready position. It would also be cool, because you have to be really cautious while using it because of of possibility of friendly fire. I know there is a tricky part in it, because this option would make bayonet attack have hit collision system turned on all the time, but maybe there is some option to solve it.

    Odometer

    I was talking with my friend yesterday about vehicles and ways to avoid situation from MOD when all vehicles will stay in forest hidden for a week because somebody "just need that car there". We have realised that previous cleanup mechanic is odd (vehicles were deleted if their position weren't updated for a week) because somebody can enter a car, drive it 5 meters forward and it have cleanup timer reseted. So we agreed that odometer counter would be great option in game: Something like this: This would allow a lot of stuff. Modders can use it for something. Maybe car parts life and decay could depend on this? Even filling up a tank can be countable, if I fill a tank with 20 liters and car burns 7 liters (fuel burned by different cars can vary) per 100km i can run about 300km, which can be easily calculated using a car odometer. This would also be visual improvement, awesome to see counter rolling while driving.

    Right now bleeding seems unrealistic but in fact it is important in term of pvp. It's good to know that somebody is bleeding, that changes everything. Making it better looking will stop you to see that.

    Odometer

    No, it was not a bug, it was function in mysql DB that was run on server start. This function was to clear unwanted object in map edges albo clean DB out of tents of players that don't play on server anymore. No, you are wrong. People that enter a server, hide vehicle very well and stop playing block that vehicle from use of other players. Border runs ofc happen and is part of gameplay but when there is a wreck near edge, which has almost everything destroyed...nobody will travel few times x 10km to repair it, even if there will be just few cars on server. It's just not cool to travel outside map to do it. I think it even break immersion. In fact I prefer hunting for vehicle wrecks inside of the map. There will be decay of items, why not vehicles? My point was to create some value of cars that can be a workaround to allow this smarter way. Point is in fact technical aspect of this idea which will be working as value used for some coding. Visual aspect would be just "ok, if we have kilometers traveled by car in DB, why not show them to the player".

Professional solutions guarantee low pings and good server optimization. Despite some cases with bugs in scripts (caused by new DayZ version) server provide with better FPS than other servers. Also frequent restarts are better for your gameplay performance. All overpowered "one shoot one kill" weapons were taken off or spawn chance is really really small. AS50 and M107 is totally removed, M107 sometimes accidently spawn but it's removed by admin manually. L85 AWS is also removed. Instead of those weapons you can find a lot of other weapons that are not banned in DayZ. Spawn chances of all weapons, especially those ones on heli crash sites are slightly reduced. Especially FN FAL and FN FAL AN/PVS-4 which were spawned in huge numbers. Spawn of crucial items like NVG, Rangefinder are modified time to time by main admin. Goal is to have few of each items per server, so if some items vanquish, chances are raised. When enough items are in players hands chances are reduced to 0%. That way we prevent from inflantion of top-high quality items. There is also a change in spawn rate of top equipment, coyote backpack and ghille suit. Here is some data about spawn chances of modified items: (0.01 means 1%) http://imageshack.us...7/broniehe.png/ There is also change in vehicles spawn rates. Number of vehicles is increased but spawns are delayed. So if vehicle is destroyed, next chance may occur next few days but not immediately. There is also a change about UH-1. There is only 1 UH-1 on the server. After it's destroyed it's spawned randomly next 4-7 days manually by main admin (there is no chance to guess when UH-1 comes back into the game). 5) Statistics We are working on statistics table. New changes on server #2: - removed NVG - removed M14/DMR - finally removed M107 (never spawns) - added G36 C and SVD in place of M14/DMR - death messages working Currently there are 30 slots on server but number can be increased to 50 anytime. Usual number of players is 20+ in primetime, up to 30 weekends. Haven't spotted any hacker. Had few guys using navigator but they are spotted pretty fast so if your camp is robbed it's 95% chance that's because player that don't cheat. Teams on server are mainly focused on PVP.
