I hope he enjoys his trip up Everest, it must be nuts. It would be nice if they just gave a small update every week saying, "this week we are working on ________________" but even still IDK why but I am in such a good mood about DayZ, probably because I know that at least it wont turn out like The War Z. So take your time guys I dont care if it takes all year but just give me a shitty update every week so I feel like I am seeing the game Development progress. any hoo just wanted to say Best of luck Rocket and hope the team isn't under too much stress in your absence. -
I should finish my train of thought, if BI is working on NEW weapon sounds great no time wasted doing the research for my DayZ buddies. On a side note I am sorry for saying that Rocket is on Twitter too much. When he doesnt post I go nuts. I didn't mean it Dean give me MOAR infos

Does anyone know if they are working on better weapon sounds? the Ak in the game/blog sounds like CRAP. IMO not super important, much more pressing matters but id like to see it done eventually. Any thoughts? Is BI working on NEW weapon sounds for Arma3?

I personally think there should be a ton of melee weapons and pistols. The crossbow and or bow would be cool if there were less guns EVERY WHERE. Also I don't like the idea of skill trees or anything like that but if there was a fort of XP bar that tracks how often you have used something would be interesting. Like ive never shot at a target 800m away but I can just pick up a riffle and do it. either way just a thought. Over all just keep the amount of high powered weapons low. But with less hacking not everyone will have an AS50 so even the standard model might work. So I guess I didnt offer any real opinions or thoughts :P -

just an FYI its "for all intents and purposes" why is he going to Everest now and not after the game is out? just another example of the dev team seaming like they just don't give a F&^%$#.. and before you flame me about how they are working so hard IN MY DAY dev teams were known to be locked away in a small building for months never to come out until the game was done. Seriously though, go die on Everest AFTER my game is here. NAW, JK best of luck.

I just wanna see the things they are working on all the stuff they have shown so far I have seen in Arma 3 vids.. I am coming off as a hater and a punk because I want it to be good and I wanna see the work they are doing but it seems like Rocket spends all his time on Twitter and there is no real hard evidence that they are making any real headway with the game. I am sorry I came off a a douche that is just my inner pessimist shining through.

custom gear - who says the Arma3 team isnt making clothing for civilian units? custom buildings - its just Cernarus, there is no chance the arma3 team isn't working on this popular map? and the zombie stuff yea i kinda said that my point is there has not really been any updates showcasing elements that arent in some way in Arma3.

i dont think 4000 zombies is too much for 169KM^2 in fact it's right around the actual pop density on average http://en.wikipedia....ion_density.svg and that is for 2006

I bet the standalone wont come out till after Arma3. Has anyone seen what Arma3 looks like? All the standalone looks like is an Arrma3 mod. :o/ Is it just me or is there nothing being added in the standalone that isn't being worked on in Arma3? A list of things in Arma3 that the dayz team has been going on about like it is unique to their game. Volumetric clouds. better graphics. more interaction with vehicles and the like. clothing system. The ability to keep items in clothing. As far as I can tell the only things they are actually working on by them selves is the zombie AI and adding loot spawns under shit.

Looking for a server with active admin and members, maybe something with more than one dominating bandit force on it. needs to be Veteran, have a full day night schedule, NO ADMIN abuse; IE gear spawning, server rollbacks to recover lost gear, kicking or banning players for killing the admin or a friend of the admin. If i kill you, loot what i want and blow up everything else just come kill me and wreck my day, don't cheat. if there is a ton of PvP i prefer 3rd Person off but i don't care. It would be nice to have a chance to join a small group other than myself and my friend.

Love the post, I haven't read all the replies but here is a few things I would like: Larger scale of cities Cherno should feel huge, more buildings with multiple stories, tight ally ways. I know this is gonna be F'ed up but like the way WarZ makes the city feel huge. Also huge cities should have a huge number of zombies. Think Atlanta in The Walking Dead. Zombies should have different sound cues for what they are doing Moan, Grunt while walking. a sort of yell when alerted gets louder. Screams when chasing someone. With your ammo Idea it solves my request of getting rid of SD ammo just have the ammo for the gun and let the silencer degrade over time. also the idea of attachable item is great almost all military weapons use the rail system so why cant I utilize it too? More animals, I don't know how many times I have been up north notice my hunger getting high and went looking for food only to nearly starve to death because there wasn't any animals within a 10km radius. Items should look distinct. Compass, Map, Watch, all look just like a Makorov mag, it is maddening. Another idea I thought about was keeping the separation of the inventory on your person and in your backpack. Give more backpack options though like a tactical pack that is smaller but show up in your main inventory because it id on the front. So like with the Czech vest pouch make it expand the inventory on your person and all ammo kept in it will automatically be used when you need a new mag. One last thing is a non lethal weapon options, like for a Hero who is meeting a survivor to assist them when he/she comes across an unknown target and wants to take down but not risk their Humanity. -

If they just made the FOV in 1st person better people would enjoy it more. You can change it your self but they really should do it for the people who don't know what they are doing. That being said leave 3rdP for the scrubs that want to play in the kiddie pool and make 1stP better for the rest of us. -
