So.... Twenty pages of votes.... When do the votes get tallied and changes get made (or not)?

Totally agree - get rid of the global channels

What about using all those empty cans and whiskey bottles to make a simple trip wire trap that rattles cans or smashes whiskey bottles? Could set up in towns to make life difficult for other players (by alerting zeds) or to alert use to the presence of other players or zeds. Could possibly do something similar with flares for night time. *use =you

The solution to the bandit problem. Definitive.

I like the emergent approach for groups - if you all find a radio, you can have comms (for a certain range). Otherwise direct chat and possibly gestures. I also reckon for more immersion the side bar should be scrapped for text (and definitely voice). -
As a tweak I'd like to see a mild reduction in the availability of winchester ammo - I come across guns that should be better like the SPAS or remington but end up deciding to leave them as i can blat zombies all day with a winchester. Would be good to increase the motivation to change guns. Even a slight increase in some of the other ammo types i.e. For the remington. That's my two cents.

Dedicated button for "Don`t shoot" sign

Saluting seems to get the message across, or leaning side to side (although that looks kinda silly). Aesthetically a replacement movement would be nice but i think its a bad call to link it to karma. A bad call Ripley, a bad call... -
Looking forward to hearing what the other shit is when the devs have had some much needed rest...

On a related note seeing as vehicles are now more prominent in general - if you get a certain distance away from chasing Zeds, do they stop following you? Obviously it's pretty hard to do that on foot, but on a push bike...

Headlamp or pistol/torch dual wield?
Roshi (DayZ) replied to Roshi (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Sorry to keep thrashing this post but another advantage of a head lamp over weapon mounted flashlight is light beam would stay facing aheac when you run or turn... Something that doesn't happen with my G17... -
Game purchase only. Studio developed as long as they don't try to mess around with it based on profit motive. Would be stoked with Mod for Arma 3 or a stand alone if that led to better core gameplay (e.g. Improved Zombie behaviour, better inventory system, more enterable buildings, built to purpose map, etc). I think the concept and basic gameplay are superb and if done well this could be a HUGE game. i would happily cough out a reasonable sum on single purchase, but not a fan of paying fees after. Would happily donate for development - largely because you seem focused on doing what's right for the game, and it's huge potential.

Yes until the system is streamlined/balanced. I think the uncertainty of whether someone is friend or foe is more authentic without. Would like to see a little random variation in skins however, or ability to change clothes, but have this unrelated to PvP. For example it would be nice to change into camo if come across some, and maybe have some civie starting skins. I'm for allowing PvP as restricting what people can do in the game limits its potential. Having said that I have yet to attack or kill another player.

Agree with Grandpa - the awesome thing about the mod is the mindf*ck. Don't want that watered down.

Horses? I know I'm probably pushing it but on the plus side don't require parts or fuel, can be shot by opponents and hey, if you get desparate, you have a ready supply of steak... Or just stick to bikes...

Hi guys just a couple of thoughts: - scavenge some car parts off some wrecks for vehicle repair. - different sized backpacks slow you down a little - may need to ditch pack, at least temporarily, to get away from a horde - in line with reality a little more... Thoughts?

Hi all - just wanted to get a heads up if possible regarding what's happening with the Australian and New Zealand servers? Haven't seen the Aussie one for a wgile, and the Kiwi one only intermittently. I appreciate that the servers are a privelege not a right so asking with an understanding of the costs and hassles involved in running one. Ps for those without a passport, New Zealand is a small island nation off the coast of Transylvania that is under the auspices of the King of Australia...

Headlamp or pistol/torch dual wield?
Roshi (DayZ) replied to Roshi (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah I like the idea of adding weapon lights but I suspect that weapon modification in the field isn't a feature in ARMA II making it difficult to implement. Having said that it would be a great idea. I kinda liked the idea of using heavy duty tape to attach a torch (flashlight) to your rifle, but refrained from suggesting it for this reason. I'm guessing the suggestions that that are easiest to implement and that really add to the shit-scared/just survival ambience are the ones that will make it into the mod once the dev team are happy with the core gameplay. I am very happy with a cautious approach to adding suggestions as I like the authentic feel of the mod - really don't want it to become too gamey. Again, can't say it enough - awesome work Rocket and co. -
There are mountain bikes in ARMA II right? You start one of the missions in the campaign on one...

Mister Proper - you are a very beautiful woman.

Food, Hunger, and hunting ... oh my!
Roshi (DayZ) replied to cMeFragU's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I agree with the slower build up of need for food than water, but think some compromise between the real world and the game world is a good thing so that hunger is a motivator. If it took two days of game time before needing to eat...well i think that's too long. I'm a big fan of the general realism in DayZ (and ARMA in general) but hey, there are no zeds in real life so a little reality bending is ok by me as long as it doesn't involve f$&king zombie crows, etc. A shift towards more hunting, less beans, would be good in my books. -
Not a fan of this - thinking this mod is more about infected zeds rather than supernatural/undead zeds...

Headlamp or pistol/torch dual wield?
Roshi (DayZ) replied to Roshi (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Thanks for the input falcos. On reflection, the reason i suggested these options is that i'm not big on having to give up a pistol slot for a torch. The idea of having it as a bit of kit like NVG (headlamp) or in the lower inventory (torch) was to prevent this. A torch wouldn't sit in your pistol holder - you could hang a mag light off your belt for example. Also to allow the player to have a weapon ready without having to do the hold turn it on, throw it down, pick it up thing. Cheers -

Ah didn't know about the red filter or dropping/picking up thing. Cheers.
