Ok I have solved this issue for me at least (if anyone cares), it seems if you alt-tab to desktop then back into the game the lag disappears! Why this should work is beyond me but hey.

Yep i am having this same problem, thing is I have 2 pcs that are used to play dayz, one is fine with no lag on low ping servers, the other one lags horribly on the same servers, tried multiple servers same thing, and when you quit to menu the main menu lags up too.

There was a thread on another gaming forum I frequent, sounded awesome so bought arma2, glad I did got 2 great games for the price of one.

Yeh I've met some decent youngsters whlist dayzing, even joined up with one 14 old guy once (we died).

Dont you also have to actually run Arma2OA first without the dayz mod or is that just me being dumb?

Yep kamenka all the way, plus there are sometimes camps in the hills near the edge of the map there.

Still, actual real people work for BE and at it must be really discouraging to put work into it and hear all this negative feedback about how shit and ineffective they are, at least they are doing something.

If you are telling the truth then its kinda bad luck, but just goes to show dont even mess with hacks even when you are angry.

Not sure if this has been posted before, so feel free to delete if it already has. Good page for tips and tweaks to improve perfomance, really helped me as I have 2 machines that are running dayz, the other machine is only a amd2500 + nvidia 8600gt which is somewhat below specs and it made quite a considerable difference mucking around with some of these settings. http://www.rockpaper...-on-performance doh spelt performance wrong in title

Just something I was musing about this morning, wondering what the age average would be for Dayz, possibly compared to other popular games. Now I'm pretty old (37) and I know a few other dayz players who are around my age, and I have also encountered lots of teens during my travels in Cherneraus, thought it would be an interesting statistic.
