    If you dress like a bush you are a bush. Better than cargo pants and green t-shirt etc. Regardless. There is a fundamental prob with draw distance and ghillies at the moment. They need to fix (if required) more than just heat. And point taken re: insulating properties of burlap etc. :)

    Just wearing a pristine rain coat makes you overheat. And it's true that this would be the case in real life when you wear something that cannot 'breathe' so to speak. But overheating in a Ghillie suit while stationary seems odd. Were you moving much prior to resting / dying? Were you already over the threshold overheating ?

    he wasn't being rude. he was voicing his opinion based on a lot of people's play style not being in the spirit of the game. Of course it's up to you as to how you play the game....but it's also up to me to endorse his opinion of some play styles being, well, pathetic.

    Apart from the total removal of public servers, which is rather drastic, does anybody have a sensible way to combat (pardon the pun) this server hopping exploit ? I am sure the DEVS did not want the game to be player / abused this way. Any ideas for the think tank ?

  8. Hate to hate on Dean but you are correct. He was never right for the job. And yes the game is floundering in the way of 'lack of activities' ...too much time between substantial changes / updates. The same old bugs that needed to be addressed 12 moths ago are still firmly entwined in the fabric of this engine. I love DayZ but it's like a bad relationship.
  9. Agree with the social engineering aspect for sure. Ie; People manipulating you into a trap etc. But it's now to the point where you, even after establishing a new relationship with another player, you have to keep a careful eye on he / she. Don't let your guard down because it just may end in tears. Betrayal it seems is the flavor of the month. I, myself would feel terrible after punking somebody for no apparent reason other than to piss them off. But unless dying from a bug and / or glitch in this game I cannot really blame anybody but myself from the myriad of stupid ways I have perished. ...I have set my own destiny. t r u s t n o b o d y I'm starting to see why role play servers are getting (have gotten) so popular. Makes sense.

    Correct me if I'm wrong. I think the max Zombies a player can attract is 5 at once. If there is a 6th there....we wont be alerted. That's my experience anyway :)

    Well it's been a while...

    Some of your points are actually valid. It pains me to say it but yes. They are valid. But that's where the story ends. Zombies are placeholders at the moment. Awful menu system ? How so. ? How long do you spend in the menu? Discussing the "huge amount of money" they made at tail end of your post kind of devalues any validity to your opinion to be honest. You sound hurt.....like you've been ripped off. If you care to take a look through the change-logs and developer blogs written over the past year you would see a vast amount of improvements to the software. The sheer nature of DayZ and it's vast landscape is amazing in itself. There is no magic here. This is a one of a kind game that even H1Z1 isn't close to. How many multiplayer games let you run about with people from all corners of the globe and let you interact in gun-play / role-play in a reasonably fluid and generally enjoyable fashion - all the while on a massive terrain that is so big it requires a map and compass to get your head around. (????) Credit where credit is due. Maybe this isn't for you.

    In real life, if you open a canteen / bottle which is filled with fuel....would you not smell that it was gasoline prior to gulping it down? Would you not instantly stop drinking once you started ? Forcing someone to drink it would be another story. C'mon.
  21. Agreed. Stamina would help with that. But progressive stuff. Not instant penalties. Base the stamina on the difficulty (by degrees) of any given obstacle. Resting your player half way up a hill may be an option one day. Just as it would be IRL.
  22. Also. When sprinting from flat ground to a hill. Let the player gradually lose speed as he ascends. Not this ridiculous instant walk speed 'slowdown' Full sprint from a mountain top to a steep descent should result in a trip and ragdoll fall down the slope. All these problems are age-old dregs; left overs from Arma II (maybe earlier) and should not exist this far into the DayZ alpha. Isn't it time ????

    What ratio ? Are you talking about the fov (can be altered in menu) ? Not sure what you mean about 'smooth the turning' and headaches. Take away the choice of 3PP for a short time and ask for feedback. My reasoning is this. You are occupying an enclosure with a wall just higher than your head. You can simply stand close to the wall and see, without risk, all inbound players. The approaching players do not have this advantage and are handicapped because of this. Now, I hear the argument in regards to 'tightening' the camera in certain circumstances etc. But why? Why would you want a floating camera behind your head in the first place ? What is realistic about that ? Is this not a survival simulation ? Players who need to see around an obstacle should be at risk to do so. At least make the general population trial the 1PP to see the outcome. There may be a lot of converts once they get used to it. It's a real shame most 1st Person fans are forced (like me) to play on 3rd Person Servers just because most if not all of the full servers are 3PP. And while on these servers, I will use the exploit of the magical cam only because I would be severely disadvantaged if I did not do so. It's just a shame such a great game is bogged down with such an 'arcade' type game mechanic than lends nothing to the true atmosphere of the genre.
