  1. I put up a thread earlier months back about a suggestion regarding the Czech Vest Pouch for a better purpose http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/5065-revised-function-of-the-czech-vest-pouch-extra-inv-slots/#entry51579, as it's still a obsolete backpack when you already start the game with a better one. So I decided to put up another series of ideas that may be useful for it. Since altering it's primary function to better serve a more interesting purpose would seem a bit too much for a singular item.

What I suggest instead is that it's removed from the random loot spawn in buildings, instead on a random occasion, a (heavy) military zombie would be wearing one that would be full with random ammo loot, or low grade military gear. This would be handy for those who are desperately in need of ammo but have run into bad luck such as myself when killing a military zombie but finding empty tin cans ...

Another alternative, would be increasing ALL backpack storage values by +2, making the Czech vest pouch the default starting gear for a survivor. And making other backpacks more highly valued to search for.

Or instead as I suggested in an earlier thread perhaps the Czech vest pouch could be a upgrade of sorts, for example. Once picked up, it will go into your tool slot inventory, and then when you find another backpack or you drop your own to the floor, you can select a option to add additional space for your backpack to hold (2-4 slots).

Pretty much all I can think of for now, just figure these suggestions could help make it more useful rather than being valued less than junk on the floor.

  2. Well, alternatively if it's not possible to increase the Primary And Secondary magazine slot limit, then perhaps instead it can be modified to act like a secondary Backpack while allowing you to Carry a main backpack as well ?

Basically once taken it would appear as a smaller icon in the corner of the backpack slot thus allowing ease to select which one to open to store items in. Or as suggested earlier, change it so it takes up 2-4 accessory slots but still has a normal backpack function.

Another alternative would be is it possible to equip this backpack to zombies ? Since maybe a 1 in 50 chance for a zombie to spawn this would be a nice idea since atm they only carry one item per body, at least then you'd get a chance to recover a better stash of loot rather than just getting the bad luck of finding tincans and whiskey bottles on most bodies. Even more so on a military zombie.

  3. As most of you have already seen this particular small backpack in common loot areas and know if it's obsolete 6 slot size carry space, in which it's use is only really valued to those who somehow managed to lose their backpack and need a quick replacement.

I was originally going to suggest that new starting survivors begin with this backpack instead, but I thought of a better alternative that may make this item a bit more useful.

Since of it's size I figure it could serve more useful as a inventory slot upgrade, as it says "vest pouch" I think of the military front magazine pouches that allow quick access to ammo. It could upgrade both the secondary magazine slot (pistols & bandages) by an extra 2 and also extend the primary magazine slot by 3.

Allowing a survivor/bandit to carry additional supplies / ammo without need to stuff it into his backpack. Also making the vest pouch appear on the front of them. And when it is picked up, the item is shown in the accessory slot.

I figure this would also need a disadvantage or downside so I figure it could do either of the following once equipped.

    - once equipped it takes up 4 accessory spaces. Reducing space for other accessories.

    - makes it more difficult to move when prone or stamina penalty

    - prevents you from carrying larger backpacks (Alice & Coyote "elite")

    - only allows you to carry extra ammo and not consumables. (perhaps 2 different vest pouch variants ?)

Hopefully no one else has suggested this, so hope this might be a better use for the Vest Pouch rather than just a useless item that no one will equip in-game.
