Within the first 45 minutes of my fresh spawn I have looted the following: Military Camo Ak-74 Kobra + 150 Rounds Makarov + Roughly 50 Rounds Alice Pack And I also stumbled upon a fully gassed up dirt bike, hiding in a bush outside of Cherno. Took it for a ride and then hid it in the woods for later use. I'm happy, this only my second spawn into this game. I'm feeling quite lucky!

Hey guys, for some reason when I join a server, I'm getting stuck on loading with a full progress bar. Is this a connectivity issue on my end? Or am I just being impatient? Please help, I want to kill zombies ASAP!

So I am strongly considering purchasing ARMA II/Dayz this weekend and I really just want to know if my set-up will be able to run dayz on, at the very least, the normal-high graphical settings. My current system: Intel i5 2.4GHz quad core 4 gigs RAM ATI Radeon 5650 with 1GB dedicated Roughly 300GB if space left on my HDD I ran the test on systemrequirementslab.com and came up about half way between minimum and recommended. I have already downloaded and pkayed ARMA 2 free, and that runs just fine. I really just want to hear the opinion of someone who A) has more tech knowledge than I; or B) runs this game on a similar set-up. I apologize if this has been posted in the wrong section or if it has already been answered a million times. No need to flame, just refer to my username. Thanks!

I'm currently in the process of downloading ARMA 2/Operation Arrowhead and I can honestly say I haven't been this excited to play a game since I was a kid on the ride home with my brand new copy of Resident Evil 2. I just wish it was downloading a little faster!!! Anyway, I've done countless hours of research on this game and I've seen many a complaint about hackers. So, my question to you guys is, does anyone have any good server recommendations? I'd like to avoid these hackers like I would a starving horde of Zeds. I'm on the US East coast, btw.

Thanks Leadon! Yeah, I'm not going to try and upgrade this one. I'm happy with the way it's handling DayZ right now, it looks great! I'm setting cash/student loans aside to build a nice rig, so I should be all set by the time the stand alone comes out. Again, thanks for your help man!

BTW, does anyone know how abundant the ammo supply for the AK is? Does it spawn pretty much anywhere, or just at military bases/air strips?

That would be awesome! I got my first gun last night, an AK-74 with 3 extra mags. I will probably be on pretty much every day, feel free to add me on DayZ Commander if you want. I use the same username in game as I do here.

I like SideStrafe's videos. I think I'm on episode 12 or so. Pretty enjoyable to watch. Not to mention his videos are what convinced me to start playing this in the first place.

Interesting, I also have 2.6. Oh well, I got myself an AK-47 and logged off for the evening, lol. I will be on tomorrow night though. What's your in game username, so I can add you on DayZ Commander? Maybe we can play tomorrow.

Well I'm currently in game and after playing with my video settings, I'm able to run DayZ on "High" with no issue. Whoopie! Now if I could only find a weapon!

Never mind, I got it. lam2s, I'm in the server US 2036 right now, if you want to join. EDIT: lol, it didn't refresh your post for some reason, my bad.

So when choosing a server in DayZ Commander, when I single click one of the servers it's ping icon jumps from, say...22, to 10000. Any idea if this is just a bug, or what? I was getting some pretty significant lag in the first server I joined.

Yeah, it seems to be a pretty big issue. But it's just an Alpha, so I'm not going to let it get me down. I already fully understand the number one rule in DayZ. Don't get attached to your gear. No worries from me! Yeah that sounds good. I'm in the US on the East coast. Think that will present a problem for you?

Well, as far as I have read, DayZ Commander seems to be the better choice. That's what I will be using.
