Yeah, upgrading to the coyote after running around with a damn assault pack was a big relief.

Got the G17 from a deer stand, the DMR from a different deer stand, the ghillie suit from a castle ruin, and the coyote backpack from the barracks at the NW Airfield.

I am very excite!!!!

I had a good one the other day. I was in the process of looting the Supermarket in Cherno when I saw someone run past the store front windows with about five infected right behind him. I yelled "FRIENDLY" over direct chat and told him to come through the front doors and that I'd take the zeds out for him. He foolishly listened to me. After he ran into the store and past me, he watched me take out the group one by one with my 1911 because he was totally UN-armed. He thanked me and I said "any time". He was bleeding so I gave him a bandage and some sardines. After he bandaged and fed himself I told him about the shiny new 1911 that was sitting on the ground in the back room. He was excited, saying he'd been looking "all over" for a weapon, lol. I followed him to the storeroom, pausing momentarily to pull out my hatchet. I approached him slowly as he was retrieving the weapon/messing with his gear. I got right behind him and said "Can I axe you a question?" He said yes, oblivious to the morbid hint I had just given him of his impending doom. I hit him repeatedly while screaming "WHY DID YOU TRUST ME?!?!" He never saw it coming. I tried to eat him, but for some strange reason this game doesn't allow cannibalism.

I loot the Supermarket and Fire Station in Cherno on an empty server, find a good spot halfway between them (since they are only about two blocks from one another), log out, find another empty server and repeat. Over and over again. Come at me.

So I was pretty geared up (M14 AIM + 8 full mags, 1911 + 7 full mags, Alice pack full of food/beverages/medical supplies, wire traps, and just about every tool/gadget I needed to survive). All I wanted was a tent so I could start setting up my home base. I was making my way from the NW Airfield to Berezino and decided to make a stop in Palona to loot the supermarket there. No problem, right? The town is relatively small and quiet, so I figured it should be a quick "smash n grab". WRONG! I observed the streets and supermarket from the treeline before choosing my route. Once the freshly spawned infected mindlessly scattered I made my move. I made it inside the store without attracting the attention of even one Z. This is where shit goes south, fast. I went to close the front door and some how "missed" the icon, effectively discharging a round from my M14 (which is super God damn loud). "No biggie" I thought, I'll just loot the back rooms real quick and be on my way. I was doing just that when some kind of super infected blasted through the wall, hit me once, and snapped my leg. Before I could get to my morphine I was swarmed by, what seemed like, the whole damn town. I tried to crawl out to the front to no avail. There were just too damn many. I was consumed. And totally bummed.

Interesting indeed. I can't wait for the standalone. I just hope they give us a lot more buildings that we can actually enter/loot.

Thanks man. Yeah, the second I hit the floor I knew I was in trouble. Then when I turned around and saw all the legs shambling towards me, I knew I was nothing more than a delicious, crawling, mouth watering Survivor Fillet. Oh well. Nobody ever said it would be easy living in an undead world.

Lol, it helps keep me warm while I'm traversing the harsh and bitter cold wilderness of Chernarus!!

Thanks, I'm going to do that when I get home. This is why I love DayZ, though. You never know what grim fate awaits you around every corner, be it Super Zeds or Bandits or even a random drop off a mountain side (lol, yeah I did that). Now I get to start a new character tonight. Keeps the game fresh! I think I'll just make a break for Berezino, gear up a bit, and try to get a vehicle running.

Honest answer: I was a bit intoxicated and just had a "durp" moment. I just couldn't believe how many had swarmed and how fast they arrived.

So, basically you want to be shot without warning and lose all of your new found gear? That's what your typical interaction with other players is going to end up with, anyway.

Well I foolishly fired my weapon at the Northwest Airfield and was soon swamped by a massive hoard on the roof of the Radio Tower. I barely escaped and am now sitting just below 3,000 blood. I have a blood bag, I just need a kind soul to meet me and give me the transfusion. I can meet you anywhere near the Airfield. I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks. P.S. It would be especially awesome if you didn't shoot me in the face before or afterwards. :)
