Yeah, and you should read my comments and note I do not want 3PP to be removed: Anyway, whether it is worth or not it should be me who decides. It was simply my opinion, I know it won't happen.

Ahm... First, second, third and Boneboys'. I know I mentioned First Persond Camera but only to say I prefer them to force you to first person instead of what we have now, which is (in my opinion) a weird solution.
-
First Person Camera should be forced in certain situations. It's the only way to solve the obvious and most annoying problem Dayz has. For a game that aims to be realistic third person view just should not be one of its features. I DO like the third person view, and I understand it being in the mod, but it doensn't belong to Dayz. Anyway, we already know they are not going to remove it, so what I would do is simply force first person camera while prone in grass, in interiors, close to walls...

What is the current status of cheaters in the alpha? I recently got killed by a gun that reminded me (sounded like) to the infamous AS-50 and couldn't see the gunner after a few shots. You never know If you got killed by a legal sniper or simply by an invisible cheater.

Because base building is popular. I think it should be limited a lot. Large clans (Which seem to be the ones that are going to be able to build large bases) ruin to a certain extent the experience, particularly for themselves. Hoarding weapons, food and all that simply makes the survival and looting aspects of the game trivial. We well see how it behaves in combination with CLE.

Agreed. No doubts soft skills need to be realistic, but they should also somewhat influence combat. Otherwise I don't think they will matter a lot for people. They have somewhat contradicted themselves, as things like bandaging yourself faster does influence combat, so I don't see a reason why you cannot gain certain skill reloading a weapon that has been yours for a while, or maybe steadier aim after sprinting... By the way, another visual aspect that I would add to this system is physical fitness. Characters could spawn well, not fat, but somewhat not fit at all, and with time develop muscles (Realistically!) and all that, which could pair with the gain of stamina. I think you get the idea, I am not an english native speaker so I cannot express accurately what I mean.

Maybe you could... Lose, some things.

Do we have a changelog?
-
So... It will probably help?

Will this improve performance and/or help with zombie desync?

What are you looking forward to most with 0.58 stable?

Soft skills will definitely make the difference. Any news on what skills are we going to have? I also think loot scarcity is one of the reasons why Dayz is Dayz. For those of you who want to find a gun in ten minutes and start shooting... Well, no, just no. This would ruin Dayz. The difficulty of finding a gun with ammunition to spare (Generally good loot) and the fear to lose it is what makes you feel that characteristic, as kim.crak.korn described, adrenaline rush. Dagwood pointed out a very interesting thing, indeed. They have already "sold" the game, that undoubtedly gives them much more freedom to create it without considering pew pew gamers. -
Yeah, but I also wanted to specify how I liked the idea, and that if it is relatively easy for the devs to implement them, they should do it. It would make the experience of playing and testing Dayz much more pleasing.

BUT, if the answer to B is negative, it is a great idea.

Absolutelly one of the best features Dayz will have. I hope to see also things like ability to resist fatigue better, steadier aim after sprint, resistance to diseases. I'm not particularly interested in beards, but visual aspects are also great. Realistic things of course, that is important. And they should develop slowly.
-
What about performance? Currently Dayz performs poorly particularly at towns.
-
I am not a hater. I played Vanilla Dayz Mod for hundreds (probably more than a thousand) of hours. That means I like all the decisions they made with the mod, and I also like all the ideas they have for the game. You can review my past posts to check this. I have logged in after a while to ask about what I think is the biggest problem Dayz has now: performance. That said, my apologies. I should read what you have to say about the game. What is CLE? Thank you. By the way, I should also say I particularly like the idea of your playable character having skills that develop with time, so that objects are not the only thing that defines your character. This will certainly help with certain problems like people in clans which have spare items not appreciating their lives.

The renderer is the most problematic problem right now, one of the two reasons this game is not working right now the other one being zombies, and therefore the biggest part (in terms of importance) of the engine ;) . You should stop defending them and acting as fanboys. Just an advice. I really hope to be wrong and I still wait for this game to become a playable game. Yeah, it is an alpha, an alpha with two major problems about which we are not receiving any news.
-
So they didn't say anything? They should, they are the most important problems Dayz has. And you are wrong, the new renderer was indeed intended for today's presentation: "Lead Producer Brian Hicks will be speaking at RTX 2015 - discussing the plans for apocalyptic Chernarus moving into the end of the year. From expanded base building options, new vehicles, modding support, character soft skills, and upcoming engine changes Brian will discuss and demo some of the upcoming changes to the post apocalyptic survival simulator DayZ. Q&A to follow!" Source: http://dayz.com/blog/status-report-08-jul-2015 I understand they need their time, but there seems to be a bit of secretism surrounding those two topics which should be now the biggest concern for them. And for you the fans, by the way.

What about the new renderer and zombies?

Any news? -
Hi, with the following rig: Gigabyte Z97X-UD3-BK Xeon E3-1231 V3 Geforce GTX 970 4 x 2 Gb RAM Gskill Using Windows 7 64x, whenever I try to launch the game from Steam the screen goes black and nothing happens. The only solution is to restart the PC. I have already verified the game cache.

Game won't start [Black screen, need to restart pc]
mitor replied to mitor's topic in Troubleshooting
Okay, I fixed this starting the game in windowed mode. -
Hi, I haven't been following the development very closely lately, I have read the latest devlogs and none of them says anything about the zombies. Is there any piece of news about it? I remember something about Bratislava...

The best thing I've done... I was around Cherno with my friend, we found a guy with an M4. I had a Lee Enfield. He was apparently friendly, and he decided to follow us. Suddenly, as my friend was looting pretty far away, he said something, I wasn't able to understand him well, but something in his voice and the clear words "kill you" made me raise my weapon and shoot him. I was right, as he was aiming at my head with his M4. Surprisingly, the Lee Enfield knocked him down. One shot, and he was lying on the floor bleeding, but alive. I am a hero, and I don't kill people. At least, only in self defense. So I bloodbaged him, I bandaged him and gave him morphine. I recommended him to come back from the dark side, to be a nice and friendly survivor, and left him there. At that very moment I decided to use weapons which deal a lot of damage to knock down people, like the Lee Enfield and the M14.

Dear Rocket and his team, no private hives, please.
mitor replied to Dekkymane's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Completely agreed, OP. Although I first thought it could be cool to let people mod the game so that they could improve it, I have realized that people gamers cannot be trusted.
