Ive played quite alot of chernarus.. not my favorite map but i have played it and know the basics from the mod etca. First of all, in dayz i never tend to get a full map. its always some piece "sw" i get and never really the full version. a full version of the map would take up as many slots as a motorcycle helmet. wich is strange. And the compass is slow and clunky to use aswell as its hard to quicky see the directions. So even with my average knowledge of the chernarus map i cant spare any space for it, maybe the compass for combat directions or directions to go. but not the map.... cause its faster to go 5 mins the wrong way than using it.

Is the map and compass to clunky?

Most likely he said it because he was out of other input to share. If he cant handle a discussion or level it like the opponent he has nothing here to do. I dont think he has ignored me. -
Is the map and compass to clunky?

Finally a real input! I have done quite abit of land navigation myself, although not backpacking kind. more tactical advancement over great distances in large winter plateau's in a military situation. And trust me that is not a situation where you toss away the map to make room for a motorcycle helmet. Maybe its intended that when you dont need the map anymore because you learn it, its then the map become much like many of those books you find. just a immersive object that is utterly useless. -

Is the map and compass to clunky?

Why do you quote me if you dont reply to the post? Rendering distance is very relevant so you can see distant towns and mountains. Maybe for you "map is good" but for me its better not to use it because its not worth the space it takes in my inventory. even if i took space for it i wouldnt use it.. So why do you use the map? what advantage does it give you using the map? -

The time and effort lets you throw away the map, not use it. I think if you dont use the map at all and learn it without a map you will more quickly learn your way around. Im interested in how exactly the map is useful. why have it ingame if its useless -
Is the map and compass to clunky?
Serious Stan replied to Serious Stan's topic in General Discussion
Im just saying the gaming side of map navigation is not immersive to the real life navigation. 1. many locations look the same ingame, you have only a certain amount of trees, buildings etca. 2. rendering distance is not comparable to IRL 3. your dude is probably russian, but he doesnt understand russian signs if the gamer is not russian. -

I think they should let the ingame character know where he is on the map, its not natural to pay attention to all the details when your playing on a screen and when you navigate IRL using a map and compass. -

So you dont use the ingame map. interesting... -
damage on limbs or? damage from the boots. ? Sure you get some damage from running very far in rough terrain or even roads.. but that has something with footwear and weight and training aswell.. Too many varaibles to make this a real aspect of the game.

Dont think its all like you have seen in the videos. Those are highlights mostly of the "good" side of dayz In reality only 50% use VOIP and you will die in many stupid ways.
-
Noise to what exactly? there is no radios in dayz atm.... your best noise jammer would be a FM-radio without any signal on max volume :D

Why Mouse Acceleration and Responsiveness desperately needs Fixing

You are moving slow because you are standing STILL! omg..... when will people read or even think about how the allmighty creator ROCKET want this game? he wants it to be REAL.............. In other words you cant turn fast 180-360 or wtf you want when you are standing still because you dont have mechanical legs! IF YOUR CHARACTER HAVE MOVING/WALKING/RUNNING legs then he can move faster around. not when his legs are stuck in the ground. Anyway it doesnt matter what you think.. This is not CS this is no COD this is not BF. This is dayz mother fucker! We're all in the same bucket here so try to use your petty brains before gurgling it out on the ground -
