Yesterday I had this is idea on how the enviroment could affect your character even more. What do you think about adding different heartbeat rates that resonates to the situation your character is in. CALM: condition: waiting or beeing prone for a while Effects: Better aim, more difficult to hear (one bar of hearing less than normal) etc. INCREASED: condition: running for a while. Infected are very close Effects: slowly regains body temperature, increased need for water and food etc. RAPID: condition: fighting player or Infected, Effects: adrenalin rush sharpens your senses/ heavily increased need for food and water/ heavy breathing (adds one bar of noise) Special: adds a 5 seconds delay if a character disconnects with ALT+F4 etc. (PANIC: shaking, blurry view, panic noises etc. ? ) - Maybe you can increase heartbeat with coffein and decrease it with a suppressant drug. - If you kill a player, you're stuck in a rapid heartbeat for a while -etc. I am not a programmer and do not know if this would be easy. After all this is as a kind of brainstorming. :)
