Confirmed. ARMA 2 is clunky and MEH.. probably why all the rage is now ARMA 3.. the masses finally gave ARMA 2 a legit try with this mod and turns out it's pretty terrible.. "oh let me go up these stairs WHOA TELEPORT TO THE FRONT OF THE STAIRS.. oh whoops teleport broke.. AHHHH FALL TO MY DEATH" i mean seriously. even the shittiest games in the world have seamless stair climbing.. It's not that difficult of a thing to do, but it's just 1 thing that highlights the overall clunkyness and unfinished project that is ARMA 2

maybe that's what happened to me too i dunno. When you click the six updater link on the download page it takes you to another page with a big "DOWNLOAD" button.. maybe i needed to look for a smaller "we wont fuck you" button either way it's shady shit..

spybot would def flag babylon toolbar. It's adware and if you google it on IE some people do not have such an easy time removing it.. edit: that's sound security advice whargod.. i just would not have expected this from rocket..

it installs several unwanted programs.. as explained by whargod. Including one that is telling me my disk is slow and i need to buy some software.. At least it lets me uninstall it w/out having to go into safe mode and all that shit.. Babylon bar.. what the fuck.. installs that shit to keep track of what you read on the internet and try to sell you shit..

32 bit architecture can only natively support 2048 MB ram. So getting 4GB will not give you all that much boost because windows will have to work overtime to try to handle it. Best thing to do is start from scratch. Lots of reasonable deals out there. Check newegg.

Honestly Rocket I don't think you'll be here forever talking to us. Forums have a way to tear you down, take away all your fucks till you have none to give. Perfect example is Darkfall. Granted AV is a terrible company, but they abandoned the forums. In a way they had no choice as people continuously thrashed their work. Eventually it will happen to you. I read an article about it once.. i lost 80% of my banditry status. I'm a survivor now. Don't bother deleting the post ForumZ will probably die again. Can't live forever.. no one does.

Some people are going to be a lot more skilled than others in this type of game. I think that there will be some "carebearing" required to keep a lot of people playing. One thing that I think would really help is something like a respawn totem (a la xsyon). I am one of those less skilled players and can rarely survive more than an hour even if i immediately high tail it north. No big deal I don't mind dying and losing all my shit, but it just starting to feel like every 30 minutes or so I have to restart the entire adventure. And while I enjoy running over the countryside it will eventually get very old. What if I had the ability to drop a respawn totem with a tent or basket type of thing that stores extra supplies. So that when I die I can just start my adventure from that point and if I wanted to make it a more permanent home I can go out get supplies come back etc.. Some rules of course. 1) persists only on the server you drop it 2) can be destroyed/looted by other players 3) Ability to invite friends to respawn at that totem 4) Wipe after a couple of days 5) Ability to pick up and move it This way I don't have to keep reliving the same (run over hills for 30 minutes) adventure every time i die.. which as i said is often..
